KJ Noons Illegal Knee

I know it's already been a few days since it happened, but does anyone think KJ Noons should have been fined or the fight been judged a no contest because of that illegal knee he threw?

I can understand the argument that the fight was already over before the knee. But he still connected with it and everyone just seems to have forgotten about it.

Does anyone know if he got fined for it or anything?

Didnt see the fight, what happened? Knee to a downed opponent? I dont think he should be fined unless he had some serioulsy bad injuries that occured because of the knee. And theyd have to prove that it WAS because of the knee.

Did they fine Jon Jones for the illegal elbows?

It was something that you'd see in a movie. Bell rings at the end of the fight, then the illegal knee is thrown. Fight was over for half a second.

Yes, he should be fined.

In reality the fight should have been stopped when the punch after the bell in the first knocked Gurgel senseless. Noons started the punch before the bell and I;m sure it wasn't intentional, but none the less it landed after the bell rang and should have been a N/C stoppage right then.

Gurgle was in lala land. I can't believe he wasn't checked by a ring side doctor between rounds and was allowed to fight on. That fight was all around a poor showing on the Ref, the doctors and the athletic commission that over sees them.

Well I really don't understand what the ref has anything to do with it. Throwing a knee to a downed opponent, regardless of what time in the fight it is, is illegal. Yet it's just being overlooked.

The punch at the end of the first round, I don't fault Noons for. He threw the punch just as the bell rang and wasn't able to stop himself half way through. I get that. But punching your opponent in the face is perfectly legal. A knee to a downed opponent is never legal.

Should the fight have been called a little earlier? Possibly. But Gurgel was still trying to fight back. Sure, he probably didn't have a single clue where he was or anything but he was still trying to fight. So I don't overly blame the ref that much.

And maybe I am making a bigger deal about it than it really is. Guys get hit with **** like this all the time, most of the time with their eyes rolled into the back of their heads. But this one, to me, just didn't seem right at all and I do feel that something should have been done about it.

Yeah tbh it should have been a NC after the first - no it wasnt deliberate but it was still after the bell and Gurgel was definitely on ***** street after that.

The knee was BS. Definitely should have been a DQ. I dont care if the knee isnt what stopped him, it was still against the rules and before the stoppage.

If you want to argue that it was after the stoppage.... well thats even worse. It was an illegal knee no matter when it happened is the bottom line.

EDIT: How is q u e e r a swear word??? If you want to argue that Im bypassing the filter then explain to me how a normal word like that is censored?

I think it should be a DQ or a NC. Regardless of whether the fight was over or not, he threw an illegal knee that connected. I don't know how there isn't more of an outrage about it.

Realistically when you look at what happened, it was either an illegal blow that ended the fight, or a blow after the fight was over; neither of which belong in mma.

Remember what happened to Jon Jones with the illegal elbows? Or Paul Daley's hook after the bell?
