yes ladies and gents , the king , the greatest LHW to grace our sport , the most classy fighter to ever step foot feet in an mma cage , the one the only mauricio shogun rua will be back to defend his title in his easiest fight of his career , his opponent glass chin evans ... this is what DW said about the return of the great one :

"?He just had knee surgery. His other ones have been in Brazil and we did this one in the United States with the best doctor in the country. He?s recovering well. We?re looking at mid-Spring/early summer for his return, he?ll fight Rashad Evans.

?This kid has looked incredible in his last few outings. He knocked out [Lyoto] Machida, which nobody has ever even come close to doing, and solidifying that he?s the best 205-pounder in the world. Now Rashad gets a shot at him.?

Rashad has a huge chance to win this considering shoguns takedown defence is very poor for a top LHW, however his BJJ could neutralise Rashads wrestling. But Rashad has been cought in his last 3 fights and lost 1 via KO. Shogun could TKO him but Rashad recovers quite well and considering both T Silva and Rampage both hit harder than shogun i don't think he will get just KOed with one punch.

lol no i never said that. Rashad isnt very good at GnP . And he cant really hold people down too well

yh the silva and rampage fight also shows that he kind of gets tired in the 3rd, which is when he usually gets caught with a big punch hopefull shogun can put him away

By then he will have some new excuse for ducking Rashad, Rampage, Lil Nog, Jones, Machida, etc. etc....

" I need a tune-up fight before I face real competition again so I am fighting either Chuck Lidell, Mark Coleman, or Tito first, whoever can get a day pass from the retirement home first." Then he will be injured again and take another year off while his fans go on and on about how much of an MMA God he is.

You jerks have me talking smack on a fighter I actually like alot simply to point out your toolishness, God I hate you all!

lol word all you Shogun fans are **** clowns, I have never seen any fan have to build their fighters up as much as you fans. My sig says it all yall will see soon enough that Shogun is not all that good. Continue with your 100 posts a day hyping your fighter up cause thats all you got.

thats bullsh** to have to wait untill early summer 2011 to see a LHW title fight when the division is stack with good fighters they need to get a interim title bout in place

Either that or drop nimble knees altogether.

He'll fight again and then be out for another 9-12 months recovering his injured knees again

I like Shogun, but him always being hurt and being away for a year at a time is ridiculous and now it's holidng up the LHW championship bouts and the other 6 guys that will deserve a shot at it by the time he and rashad fight.

im pretty sure shogun hits harder than silva and maybe rampage. i agree on the bjj neutralizing rashads wrestling but rashad doesnt recover well. the only reason he recovered in his last 2 fights was because thiago and rampage let him, they rocked him and instead of going for the kill they let him recover, which is a mistake that shogun wont make. that and shogun is much faster and has a diverse skill set than rampage and thiago in the striking department.

im not a super fan of Rashad, but its true i like him,and i'm more than sure that the match with shogun will go to judges decision. Why? Rashad will take him down...and that's how is going to start every round...and you shouldn't forget that Rashad has a pretty big power too and his punches are sometimes deadly

yea recovered because they let him. both rampage and thiago were extremely gassed. i could say rashad has been lucky.

That may be true, however I believe Shogun has a killer instinct like no other. If he hurts Rashad early the fight will only last seconds.

too many Silva fans hate Shogun because they are scared he'll beat their boy toy...Rashad is losing in the 3rd to Mauricio

I want Rashad to win because I've liked him since TUF that and I can't wait to laugh at all you Shogun fanboys. As for Silva vs Shogun. Silva is quicker and more precise. If Shogun came charging in with those wild punches he would get countered like Forrest did. If he chose to play it safe like he did in the 1st Machida fight he'll get picked apart. Also Silva has vicious leg kicks. Might send Shogun back to the surgeon.

bro nobody likes Rashad trust me, as far as Silva goes...he's looked like crap in his last 4 MW fights and will lose the rematch to Sonnen, and ask yourself this, why would he decide to stay at a weight class he is supposedly the king of instead of challenge himself at 205 against someone like Shogun who beat his homeboy Machida...badly...it's because he lets Ed Soares run his career and i think it's pathetic

Shogun is highly aggressive and talented off his back , which is perfect for Rashad's weak top control. Rashad can/will get the takedowns but Shogun CAN/WILL get the SWEEP OR GET BACK TO HIS FEET and from there its only a matter of time. Let's be real now!Rashad has been rocked in his last 3 fights. Shogun has finished his last 3 opponents and is one of the greatest finishers to ever step foot in an octagon.

p.s. "Rampage and Thiago hit MUCH harder then Shogun"

LOL Thiago has only put one fighter to sleep and that was Jardin LOL

Now Rampage i agree with but what ever the case Shogun has more out cold true knockouts then Rampage in less then half the amount of fights AND don't forget Rampage had Rashad on the verge of a coma with just a GRAZING punch!Shogun has much better accuracy then Rampage

I love Rampage and I'm whatever towards Thiago but they don't compare to the killer that is Shogun. Shogun has a ridiculous 84 KO%

Every one that has taken down Shogun also ended up losing in brutal fashion...Arona' date='Machida,Randleman ect[/quote']

this^ watch his fights (say what you want with the Forrest fight) he doesn't stay down long, Machida had him down on the bum knee and he got right back up and finished him

Somehow you can see the future? You know Rashad is going to win? Rashad is going to get killed.

Silva may be quicker but he isn't to much quicker' date=' Shogun will match him with quickness[/i']

You mean Forrest's slow weak punches. He didn't get KO'd, He gave up, he knew he was beat. And you mean the same way Anderson countered Chael?

His leg kicks are nothing on Shogun's, Just because Anderson made a unmotivated Maia fall to leg kicks doesn't mean he has vicious leg kicks.
