Why is everyone mad about the rematch

I think it has something to do with a man named Belfort.

 

I'm a big Sonnen fan. I've had his name in my sig since before these posers realized that he had a chance against Silva. But for Silva to be injured, and Belfort coming back, Sonnen getting a rematch without fighting Belfort, especially when there's time to do it, is just wrong.

a rematch is absolutely normal to me.as i said to another thread chael is the only one that gave silva a hard night.i silva wins then there will be no doupt.if sonnen wins then the rematch was a right move

Its not that i don't want to see him humble Sonnen again its just that i would rather he fight Vitor. Sonnen could get 1-2 more wins during this time and have his rematch then.

Its not so much Silva vs Sonnen stand alone. Its the fact that 3 out of the next 4 title defenses are frikin rematches.

i think that because the fight was close (sonnen dominated then got caught and was submitted) and silva usually dominates people think the rematch is more relevant than belfort.

I think Chael should've at least had to fight one fight before a rematch,the same with Bj Penn..I think Silva wanted this rematch that way he can prove to himself & the fans who is numero uno in this division..

I think the rematch is good for Vitor...he hasn't fought in a while and needs a warm-up fight to work some of that rust out.

Sonnen had a great fight. If he'd lost a decision after what he'd done, then yeah a rematch would be in order. Think Shogun/Machida I, or Edgar/Penn I, both less than decisive decision wins. If that was the case, the I'd be all for a rematch. But..., when you tap out, it's clear that you are the loser. No matter how amazing you were doing every minute up until the tap out, you still tapped out. You said, "You win. Let me go." There is no debating that he is the clear loser. He had his chance, and looked great. He lost, now he has to get back in line.

with me being a sonnen fan , you got that right .. if anyone deserves a 2nd shot at AS , it would be chael .. BUT i think that he needs 1-2 wins or just 1 against a high quality opponent before getting a 2nd shot at AS .. belfort vs silva is a bomb ! i just hope that vitor will be explosive .. a long lay-off isn't a joke for fighters ..

I'm not too mad about the possible rematch because its another win for Silva. What bothers me is I'd much rather see him fight Vitor. Like I've been saying that IS a super fight, the two best strikers MW.

 

Plus I don't think someone who tapped in the first fight should get a rematch. Also, no one has signed any contracts so this rematch is only speculation right now!!
