I think this fight's gonna be very, very competitive; a lot more so than people think. Frankie's the champ because he out-fought BJ Penn.. and right now, he sounds the like the champ conveying confidence when answering questions... in a nutshell, the kid's tough as nails and he believes in himself as the best.

Then there's BJ Penn. Well, he's the James Toney of the lightweight division if James Toney was out-of-his-effing-mind good at Jiu Jitsu and in good cardio shape. He's the monster; but he's the monster that Frankie Edgar can tame.

Yours Truly,

Frankie is a good fighter but has only one way too win by decision. As BJ has three ways to win TKO/KO' date=' Submission, or decision. And normally the fighter with the most tools wins.[/quote']

BJ had those exact same tools last time...

I think Penn will win this, but Edgar can do it!

A motivated BJ Penn is an instoppable BJ Penn. I believe in this fight if Frankie doesn't come after Penn, then Penn for the first time will press the action in a way that will seem frustrating, but he will catch up to him and stop Frankie. I like Frankie, but Penn wants something, he finds a way to get it. Should be more excited than the last fight for sure!

everyone has a bad day and that is exactly what happened to bj in fight one. now we have a super motivated bj and i believe it will be alot different this time around. as far as frankie edgar sounding confident i strongly disagree. he surely does not look confident. real champs defend their title so we will see. i must admit i am biased and love penn but from an objective standpoint i dont see edgar winning again. look at the striking stats and bj won that. a couple of takedowns that bj got up from almost immediatly seemed to be the deciding factor and his great foot work. i tip my hat to edgar but i think after tomo night he wont have the belt anymore. if penn does not fair well it would seem to be the end of a legacy. can't wait! will be a major challenge for bj and edgar.

I am pulling for Penn, but something just dawned on me and made me realized he may not be able to win. Edgar is faster and more conditioned.

The only way Penn can win this fight is to land big shots or take it to the ground.

Landing big shots- 40% effectiveness

Taking it to the ground- 20% effectivenes

This is going to be a very close fight, much closer than most people think.

This is a tough one that I think could go either way. Last time, I leaned towards Penn winning by a hair. I thought he had the first three rounds, Edgar the last two. I think Edgar's confidence is now sky high, and if he follows the same game plan he should be able to out point Penn. The guy is insanely fast and pushes a monster pace the whole fight. I've gotta give this to Edgar by a slight margin.

Want Frankie to win. However I don't see how he can win apart from a decision, by then I see him getting caught by a solid shot and getting strangled.

If Frankie loses it is not as a "disaster" as it would be if BJ lost. Frankie would get a few more fights and get that title back in a couple of years. BJ will never get that title back, only if he lost ofcourse.

I don't want to disrespect Edgar but I think Penn will dominate him this time, I think Penn will show why he is the best LW in MMA history and will do tonight what he should have done last time. He'll rough Edgar up on the feet and on the ground for 4 rounds before finishing him in the 5th round.

BJ Penn > Frankie Edgar - 5th Round KO (Flying Knee)

Bj wasnt motivated enough to fight last time. Edgar didnt talk ****. Although Edgar still didnt talk ****, he whooped BJ last time, and that....is better than chael sonnen trash talk + anderson silva dance. Im sure BJ is motivated now, who wouldnt? A motivated, hardworking BJ PENN is scary.

I hope he isnt bull****ting when he said all those thing about being reborn, being motivated, and serious. I expect BJ to be at 100% potential tonight.

BTW at the press confernce he seemed, very unease and unusual anyone else noticed? hope thats a sign of exictement and not fear

The more I look at this fight and break it down the harder it is to call. I think it's silly to think Penn will just destroy Frankie but that very well could happen. I also think it's silly to say Frankie will do the same thing again but again that could happen.

When I look at this fight I see that Frankie is indeed a bad matchup for Penn and he just needs to plays his cards right be smart and pull out the win but I have a feeling on this one Penn will force a big mistake and capitalize on it so Im going with Penn.
