Will we ever see BJ Penn in the octagon again?

If things are done fairly, after this loss Penn should have to work his way through 2 or 3 contenders before getting another shot at the belt. I honestly don't think he will be willing to do that. With his ego, I think he would consider that beneath him. Not to mention, Edgar obviously has his number. And with GSP still ruling the welterweight's, I don't see Penn moving up to that division either.

Very simply, if he can't be the champion or the greatest of all time...he will simply quit. So yes, I do think we've seen the last of BJ Penn.

Quite "Frank-ly", with him having such a marginal fight record of 5-5 over the last 5 years, I honestly don't see how the fans (or Penn himself) can label him with such accolades as being one of the greatest pound for pound fighters of all time. When I went to school, 50% was barely a pass...NOT greatest of all time!

Really??? He dominated the lightweight division for 8 years. He will come back and do fantastic, not saying he will beat Edgar again, but he will be a contender for awhile

Every division needs a gate keeper' date=' now the lightweight division has BJ. I would like to see Clay Guida vs. BJ. Since they never fought and think that would be an exciting match up or BJ vs Nate Diaz. Diaz gets past BJ he gets the winner of Maynard vs. Edgar.[/quote']

BJ a gatekeeper and Diaz gets passed BJ? You sire just crowned urself the most unintelligent mma fan on these forums and i commend u and hope that ur moronic post is merely sarcasm... BJ can defeat anybody in the LW division and Frankie when he trains at a legit damn camp and not the panzies in hawaii.... and Diaz is the most overrated fighter since the day he won Tuf on a technicality... he cant take even half the LW's!

If I sire, am the unintelligent one then why are you the one who just said BJ can beat anybody in the LW division, he just lost twice to Frankie with the same camp that got him to where he was before Frankie, the better fighter, came along. Diaz has blown through some tough guys in two divisions. And as he gets more experience he will just get better and better until his time comes like BJ's has. Before you put other people's intelligence in criticism, check your own.

BJ said himself he wants to fight as much as possible we will not see the last of the Prodigy, hopefully he works out his problems with his camp and stuff

I think he has the potential to be the best...he just needs to get his head in the game. Sorta like Rampage. If he trained, quit Hollywood and was dedicated, I think he could be an animal in the octagon. You could pass with 50%? When I was in school 59.6% was the minimum. Hah.

Yes, but he needs to change a few things. Camps, go back to cali instead of being comfortable in hawaii. New gameplan, standing up and boxing the whole fight. When your predictable you can be beat. Penn got away with it cause of his skills til Edgar
