CarlLane
After watching last nights Penn vs. Edgar rematch i realized 2 things 1. Dana realizes that the best thing for the UFC at 155 is to have Penn as the LW Champion and despite BJ getting UD'd at 112 White wanted to save that division asap by giving the immediate rematch. Now taking nothing away from Edgar but it is most likely he'll lose to Maynard and the belt will then be in the hands of one of the most boring fighters in the UFC. Grey has talent but Dana realizes people want to keep paying $44.99 to watch Baby Jay or even Edgar NOT lay and pray Maynard 2. I think it's time for Penn to move up in weight and that could also open the window for the WEC to be absolved into the UFC in the LW division. That we'll create a myriad of marketable fights! Will people watch Edgar vs. Maynard? YES i will will Dana be able to let that be the Main Event, i highly doubt it.

Kristufa
BJ, Silva and Brock were the perennial champion finishers. With Shogun injured, I don't think he knee will prevail over Rashad to be honest. That basically leaves Silva and Brock as finishers. That's kind of depressing when I think about it, only 2 of the 5 champs will finish fights from now on.
sobercuban
I absolutely think Dana had his fingers crossed before the fight that Penn would regain the title. However, I think Edgar's performance last night made Dana plenty happy.
popmaster502
Yeah i agree most likely Maynard will just take Edgar down, and spend 5 minutes every round trying to advance positions and UD Edgar and ultimately lose all interest in the LW division. But the Edgar/Penn rematch was prety exciting except for the fact that Edgar was fighting circles around Penn. Ohh by the way guys I'm new! CarlLane
Franky is the man' date=' BJ needs to join a better camp.[/quote'] Frankie definitely showed me something i thought he would fold under the pressure of the rematch. As far as BJ i thought joining Blackhouse was a good idea even though it was a long stint but it's a good idea to switch things up...

0verrated
GSP have almost the same % of finishing fight as Anderson Silva so u kinda lie to urself right there . This is true. GSP has just as many finishes as Anderson Silva. GSP is the #1 p4p in the world.
UFC_Achilles
This is true. GSP has just as many finishes as Anderson Silva. GSP is the #1 p4p in the world. GSP has changed alot though in the past few years, he's content to just win a decision every time now, he doesn't take risks or anything to try and finish, Anderson is a much more consistent finisher. He will never be a champion again sad but true he could do well at WW imo i see him beating guys like Diego obviously, Kos, Condit, Shields, unless he kept fighting like he did against Edgar, then he's not even beating a paper bag

He injured himself in the Alves fight but still dominated start to finish. GSP fights his fight why would he take unnecessary chances if he doesn't have to. Watching him absolutely work Hardy on the ground was exciting to me even though he couldn't pull out the submission. All fighters go thru periods where they don't get the finish they want I don't think it has anything to do with not trying to finish, at least in GSP's case. Anderson Silva on the other hand has had fighters clearly beaten and refused to finish, so you tell me what is worse.

eazdollaz
Frankie really seemed to have a lot of belief in himself' date=' something Penn appeared to be lacking.[/quote'] Penn had nothing for Edgar. They finally found the best LW Edgar is going to pawn Maynard. And to say that Maynard is the most boring fighter really we still have Kos/GSP least Maynard beat Kenflo up ****. I also agree that they need to do something about getting more fights finished. Like have a bonus for fights being finished no one wants to see the whole card go to decisions.
