The_Power
from mmaweely.com http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=12867&zoneid=13 A pair of "Ultimate Fighter" winners is set to do battle at UFC 124 in December as Season 2 winner Joe Stevenson will square off against Season 6 winner Mac Danzig in a lightweight match on the card. The bout was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the fight on Wednesday. It was initially reported by MMAMania.com. It's been an up and down the past 12 months for Joe Stevenson (31-11). After racking up a pair of wins to close out 2009, he fell into a rough patch again in 2010. Losing to George Sotiropoulos in Australia in February, Stevenson was set to return to action in August against former Pride champion Takanori Gomi, but a knee injury forced the California based fighter back to the sideline. With his knee recovered, Stevenson is ready to compete again and he'll have a fellow "Ultimate Fighter" winner waiting to greet him. Danzig (19-8-1) has also had to deal with the injury bug and an unfortunate refereeing issue lately. As Danzig was battling his way out of a guillotine choke in his last fight, against Matt Wiman, referee Yves Lavigne called a pre-mature stoppage, costing the former "Ultimate Fighter" winner a chance to come back in the fight. The UFC agreed that the fight should not have been stopped and scheduled a Danzig/Wiman rematch for September, but both fighters ended up with injuries, forcing them off the card. Now Danzig, who recovered from a pectoral injury, is traveling north to Montreal to face Stevenson at UFC 124. There's been no word from the UFC about the pending match-up, but it's likely Stevenson vs. Danzig would make the televised broadcast in some form. If Danzig loses he should be cut. He is 3 and 4 in the UFC and lost his last fight.

towhatend
Wow this is a horrible match up for Danzig. Stevenson should take this one pretty easily.

towhatend
The loser of this one could be cut! No way Stevenson should be cut if he loses. His last three loses are to Florian, Sanchez and Sotiropoulos. Two of those guys fought for the title right after they beat Stevenson and Sotiropoulos is one fight away from a title shot. He's only lost to the best in the division. By no means is he a tile contender but there's no way Daddy should be on the chopping block. Danzig on the other hand...good riddance once he loses again. CriscoWild
I'm pretty sure Joe Stevenson is going to win, which makes me sad. I'm a fan of Mac Danzig, even when he's getting dominated and beaten up. I don't want to see him get released.
