uaquin
http://mmajunkie.com/news/21059/m-1s-finkelchtein-emelianenkos-strikeforce-future-likely-determined-today.mma The executive said his company "primarily" is negotiating with Strikeforce's broadcast partner, Showtime Networks, on a new deal that will keep the Russian heavyweight in the Strikeforce cage beyond the single fight remaining on his current contract. That deal includes a new co-promotional agreement that could bring M-1 events to the premium-cable channel. Anyone one get the feeling that M1 is looking to cut out the middle man here in Strike Force? There was a story a couple weeks ago that Vadim and M1 were in talks with Showtime to produce and broadcast the M1 Selection series completely separate from any co-promotion deal with Strike Force. Beyond that, what does it say about Coker and StrikeForce if Showtime is the one needing to be negotiated with for Fedors new contract? Perhaps without the CBS money StrikeForce doesn't have the cash to entice Fedor without Showtime putting up both money and an even deeper deal with M1. MBoo
Strikeforce would be better off allowing Afraidor his one fight, a fight that they choose for him, and then let him go wherever he wants to go unless he bows down to their terms. Afraidor needs Strikeforce right now more than Strikeforce needs Afraidor.
