TYRONEWAYNESMITH
Like roy nelson formal ifl champ and jonathon brookins wec veteran who lasted the longest with aldo . What's the point in putting a season veteran in a house with a bunch of rookie fighters. Nobody wants to see a show knowing that that fighter will. Be the obvious one to win the show and it isn't fair to the other fighters . Opinions?
Dinosaur
A lot of good fighters join TUF because they don't get the recognition they deserve.
Gibberish
you bring up a good point about experience and accomplishments, but, you also have to keep in mind this could be the only way they will ever be offered a contract with the ufc. Rumble170cHAMP
why would the ufc want people who havent accomplished anything or dont deserve it? that would make the division they are in weaker overall and isnt it the best idea to get as deep a division as possible. idk about you but id rather have a division full of contenders then a division full of gatekeepers/cans. Thats why they fight to get on the show now because your non accomplished guys you speak of get beat usually and realize they didnt have what it took to begin with. Mike Budnik was a former WEC vet who made it to fight for a shot to get into the house and got beat retty bad by a no name guy so it is possible for seasoned veterans to get beat by rookie fighters with just better talent. Just Brookins was better then the guys he has fought so far and thats how mixed martial arts works. The better guy usually goes farther

The guys who enter there will be offered a contract in the UFC. They can't just be some kind of "amateur" fighters and be expected to become pro athletes in a couple weeks. They hopeflly come in there with a solid background and the best guy gets the recognition to be offered a contract. What would happen if in a specific season, every contenders were ******. The winner would be offered a contract and would still be ******, then he would get destroyed coming in the UFC in his first fight. The point of TUF is also to bring attentino on these new additions so that they sell tickets right when they start in the octagon. If they suck bad when they finaly get to the octagon their hype will go away instantly and all this long term promotion will be wasted. If they put vets in there they have the chance to build up the media attention on guys who wouldn't get any attention without TUF. Then when they start fighting, people will pay attention to them even if they fight nobodies at the bottom of the ranking and will follow their ascension, if ascention there is.. Za_Xiong
So that they could get a contract into the UFC ****. Would you rather fight for some lesser organization, or get a free ride through TUF and right into the UFC? So stupid nowadays.

fryingsquirrel
It's really just a way to hype new fighters. I mean the idea that you have to win the whole thing to get a contract has been THOROUGHLY disproven.
Kaney
Well,it's better to have some guys experienced than just bunch of noobs that just saw some UFC event and want to become an P4P bad *** fighter from nothing.....Fortunately,most of TUF winners are experienced and are a real threat in their division, not just some gatekeepers....
