Since at least 2009 if not earlier, interviews with Greg Jackson, one of the current savant/maestro/genius coaches of elite level MMA, have revealed that he basically has a policy in his camp that says his fighters will not compete against each other. This has been echoed similarly by other camps such as AKA, where perennial #2 and #3 WW contenders, Josh Koshcheck and John Fitch, have also said that they would not fight one another for the championship belt. Now to be fair to Jackson, he has couched this to some degree by saying there are always other options, such as changing promotions, weightclasses, etc. In the case of Diego Sanchez when he first started at WW, he even left the camp itself, when fellow competitor for the MW title, GSP, joined Jackson?s ?family? of fighters. So what is the big deal you might say?
The_Power
GSP mainly trains out of Montreal. he is affiliated with Greg Jackson. So i wouldn't say Diego fighting GSP or Carlos Condit fighting GSP will be considered teammate vs teammate. Condit even said he will fight GSP. If Greg dosen't like that i think Condit will switch camps.
ipso_facto
Something needs to be done to discourage this. Especially with these camps becoming more and more filled with marquis fighters. This is not a team sport. Even on TUF, many times team members are forced to fight one another. With that said, there also needs to be a more organized fighter ranking system in deciding match-ups and title shots. But just like the refereeing and judging in this sport, this issue falls into a very gray area.
dfwGSP
Yeah, they should just fight. It's business, not really a big deal. Well, then again, I guess it could be.

MobileSteez
okay fight your father...but dont except anything to change between the you...its not exactly the same context...but you get the point..also whats the point in fighting somebody that already knows EXACTLY your weak points first hand with only a few months to evolve? Its not like kos against gsp in which they have fought already but have had plenty of evolve...I guess we will see who is loyal at the very least and who crumbles under this all mighty dana......
