Did anyone else think he looked like a not as good version of Jose Aldo? He showed some immense striking and his leg kicks were vicous' date=' good ground game as well.[/quote']

He reminds me a lot of Jose Aldo. I thought that when I was watching his pre UFC highlight reel on youtube on friday. I could see this kid making waves in the LW division.

Check it out, music sucks but he has vicious, vicious kicks, check out the ko at 1:40 and the anaconda choke at 2:50

Have to admit, the song was awful, but he's an insane fighter looking at this H/R and he's only had 7 fights, all wins and never gone to decision. He does look like he could be the next LW champion. Might even be cool to see him at WW to see how he does there.

Sick Muay Thai 25-3 record but it's still raw when it comes to other aspects of mma, he only started mma in april 09. Time will tell but he's a very exciting prospect for sure. I'll hold off on the potential lw champ for now, I will definitely be keeping my eye on his upcoming fights.

I can understand where you coming from, but it's my opinion that he'll be a champ, just looking at his performance and his HL, he's very talented and only 24.

What made him look like a "not as good version". His striking looked superior to Aldos if anything, and his strength when it came to takedowns and TD defense was ridiculous. Im saying it already...Barboza is the future of the LW division.

do you know when his next fight is? And i wonder if he'll make the main card?

I'm not sure but all i know is i can't wait for it, he'll probably have a fight in the middle of the next card he fights on maybe a pre-lim bout. Hopefully in the next couple months he should be back in action, maybe around 128 or 129?

Yea hopefully he fights a striker so he can display his technical superiority and pick them apart!

I think he has a good chance of making the main card as he should. He's going to be really good in the next few years. He really is just like another Jose Aldo IMO. He'll work his way up to the top of the LW division pretty quick......although that div. is really stacked right now.

Yea Barboza is also a very big lightweight and won't be muscled by wrestlers easily.

are you kidding? he almost got caught with the gogoplata. if lullo was thinking right in the other ground battles, he would of swept barboza as well and probably won
