Machida Won That...

first was close, second was Jackson, aggression and the TD, Third was all Machida. I think it should have gone to Machida, but I'm biased, however Rampage also said, "You won," to Machida after the fight, and was generally surprised by the decision. Fun fight to watch though.

Oh lord. Horrible judging.

1 round doesn't win you a 3 round fight bro. Machida, woman that he is, didn't do **** in the first two. Pussed out like he always does.

Shogun ruined Machida's career, he'll never recuperate............even Machida's offensive puches are a joke. He throws to clinch because he's worried of getting countered.

I'd rather watch Nik Lentz fight. Machida era what?

Horrible desicion like Vera vs Couture. wtf.

Machida won rd1 by throwing kicks.

Rampage didnt nothing in rd1.

Rampage won only rd2 because of TD but Machida landed many kicks.

Machida won rd3 w/ puch, kicks and knees w/ TD.

Machida by 30 - 27 or 29 - 28.

How Rampage won that fight? Hes so surprise in the desicion. wtf

Machida's leg-kicks didn't do ****. Jackson was controlling the clinch and was the aggressor. Machida was sleeping in the clinch while Rampage was punching him out of his dreams to get the victory. Judging is based on effective striking, grappling, and octagon control, not running away, sleeping, and a few soft kicks when Rampage was constantly at work in the clinch in Round 1.

Rampage by 29-28.

big Machida fan' date=' but Rampage won... if you thought Lyoto beat Shogun in their first match you have to concede for the same reasons that Rampage won this fight...[/quote']

Exactly, after Machida got the first decision of the Shogun fight, the same people who *****ed that he actually won are now *****ing about Rampage's win. They are contradicting themselves. Let me put it this way... Karma's a *****! :D

Am I the only person that thinks there should be some kind of option for 5 round fights outside of championship matches? The reason I say this is because it seems pretty clear that no effort is being made to rectify the fact that mma judging just doesn't make sense, and in cases like this where you have two former champs it sucks to see either guy lose in a fight where almost nothing happened. At least in five rounds it should become pretty clear who did the more damage and actually won.

Something really needs to be done about judging. Regardless of who you think won the whole idea of scoring by rounds like boxing in a 3 round fight makes no sense. In boxing the 10 point must system is fine because the rounds are 3 minutes a piece and there's more of them. But it just doesn't fit when you're talking about 3 five minute rounds.

Running backward is a way to defend yourself. Rampage couldn`t even touch Machida. If you fight a guy that is runnig back, you have to plan a way to hit him. Machida was running back but attacking strongly. I can`t see one reason to give this victory to Rampage, sorry.

Oh lord. Horrible judging.

Rampage won round 1 on agression and octagon control 10-9 (Jackson)!

Rampage won round 2 on a agression and the take down, he slipped at the end of the round so only two judges saw him win 20-18 Jackson, 19-19 Draw!

Round 3 clearly went to Machida. 29-...28 (Jackson) 29-28 (Jackson) 29-28 (Machida)

That equals a split decision.

This is why I think non-title fights should be 5 rounds. Screw the people who gas at the end of the 3rd, they should be in better shape and use their energy more strategically. 2 more rounds and it could have been anyones game.

Rampage won the 1st by a hair so I think he did win, but I wouldnt have blamed the judges if they scored it as a tie. Machida didn't do much other then throw a few leg kicks, but Rampage didnt exactly pull the trigger either.
