I agree!!! Im glad the judges gave the fight to the guy pushing the action(Rampage) and didnt give it to the guy who retreats the whole fight(Machida). Good Call Judges!!!!

Yeah cut a former champ who won the title on a 16 fight unbeaten streak because he got KO'd by a top level Muay Thai fighter (with Grandpa's knees...) and lost a close split dec. good call, you should get a job in matchmaking, it'd be a step up from McDonald's or w/e

Nice attempt to try to **** on the Machida fans, what's ironic is that if things were reversed (ie, Rampage had that awsome 3rd round flurry and full mount and sub attempts and **** and Machida only had all the octogonal control) all the Rampage nut swallowers would be like "OMFG!! RAMPAGE SHOULDA WON THAT, ****ING MACHIDA STEALS ANOTHER DESISION!!"

 

Whats even better is that Rampage himself knew he lost. I mean lol, nice troll attempt but no.

Lyoto clearly did not win the first two rounds if you belive this Vendur then you are blinded by the hype that surrounds Machida. Machida proved in this one fight that he is overhyped and not the elite level of mma fighter that the UFC hyped him to be. Even if Machida won the split this would not change. For most of the fight he ran backwards..

Had this been Japanese MMA scoring, Machida may have won.............but not really, cause backpedaling an entire fight won't win you an MMA fight anywhere.

 

Go back and watch Machida's career and then come back and talk to me.

I've always thought that way about Machida as well.. I'm happy Jackson took this.. now we can see Jackson vs Rua II .. only this time with no soccer kicks :) oh yah, that also means Shogun is going to win against Evans.

GTFO........counter striker? Floyd Mayweather is a counter striker. Difference being is that he stands in front of his opponent and uses his abilities. Machida runs away.

 

50%+ decisions for a standup fighter......garbage. Watch his entire career, then get back to me.

It's cool.

 

You have to remember, Lyoto hasn't had that many fights. He's a karate fighter who came into MMA and proved that karate does work. It isn't 100%, but he is working on it. It needs to be tweaked here and there and he will eventually get it.

 

MMA is not about engaging, and banging it out, it's about inflicting damage while taking the least. And Lyoto has damn near perfected that. You can say he runs, and is scared, but that's foolish. He's pure offense. That's karate. People just are so use to seeing aggressive styles such as Muay Thai. I don't blame them for finding him boring, ect, ect.

 

For him to come in and accomplish what he has that quick with a style that people said was dead, and could never work in MMA is pretty impressive to me. I see no reason why he shouldn't be at the top of the division.

 

He's a guy you either love or hate though.

Fact is, Shogun gave Machida too much respect in their first fight. When it was done, and he was ready to run a marathon, he knew in the second Machida had nothing and promptly proceeded to knock his *** clean out.

In all honesty, I've seen his entire career since the Franklin KO, and to be perfectly frank, I've seen nothing impressive. I saw a careless Thiago at the horn, and an Evans who got caught riding a standup streak.

 

Go watch his career in slow motion and tell me how much he cringes when an opponent throws a punch.............he's not tough in the slightest, and looks as if he's fighting scared.

 

With Bones coming up, he'll never be close to a UFC LHW title again............

Somewhat. See, when two guys fight, regardless of previous hype, there's an unwritten respect..............rematches tell you a lot about two fighters. As Shogun was barely phased from the first fight, Machida's best, he knew he'd go into the second with no fear and clean him. Which is what he did.

 

Skillwise, in all honesty, Machida is in a pack with Diabate, Cane, Brilz and Bader..........

 

When he gets cleaned again in a 3rd loss in a row, you'll all be saying "Holy ****, Ex was right, he is overrated.|

He seems to have a fight in which he looks like a fighter, then 5 in which he doesn't. Sorry, elite LHW? No thanks.

Honestly man I know you do not like his style, but at least respect his skills. The fight tonight could have gone either way because rounds 1 and 2 no one did anything worth mentioning and round 3 Machida really came out and took the fight to Rampage. Rampage looked better tonight than he did against Rashad and had a very close fight with Machida.

 

Machida has a certain style, althought he moves away a lot as you saw in round 3 when he gets his timing right he does engage and can be quite effective. I respect your opinion on a lot of issues, but I think your taking it a little bit too far here. Machida is one of the top fighters in the UFC light heavyweight division. He is certainly not invincible, I will agree with you his hype before the Shogun fights was unjustified, but he has impressive skills and was 16-0 against decent compettion. I think both men could have done things a little different tonight, but both are good fighters, thats all I am saying.
