MattN
How did they score the fight? Shouldn't have a point systems for each TD, TDDs, people to write down hits landed by playbacks like in Football, Boxing and basketball. Aggression, octagon control, e.t.c I hate it when Judge1: errrrr I think that guy won that round. Judge2: no way man! are you blind? The other guy totally won that round. Judge3: you both are stupid, it's a draw damn it!!! All they got to do is write down 10pts for the guy who won the round and 9pts for the loser, wtf? Let a 5 yr do it then. acdoubleu
Completely agreed. I'm very surprised with as much as the sport has grown that there hasn't ben an effort to establish a unified scoring system tat is A) exclusive to mma, and something that ALL judges and refs must be trained and certified in before being involved in any fights. Like you said right now it's all about a judges personal preference and a perception of things that can't really be consistently calculated. I've heard Rogan bring it up before and I'm sure Dana and the other higher ups would like to see something done but it is most likely up to the sanctioning bodies. I thought of some sort of hand held device like a video game paddle with different buttons for various strikes, offensive/defensive moves, etc...where they could enter them in as they happen...then let the computer decide. That's just one rough idea. The other issue is the crap being fed to us that the UFC has no influence towards these Athletic Commisions in getting things changed. With the truckloads of fan money involved...I call BS on that excuse. The way I see it, the UFC actually likes controversy...it attracts all the drama seekers and WWE fans. It's regulate by a branch of the (state) government. Only way you can fix it by "force" is through politcal means.

Those SOB's work for its citizens. Some sort of overwhelming petition (orchestrated by the UFC) could probably get things happening...especially if the officials involved are elected.
