I just got back from watching UFC 123 and I wanted to share with you guys what I thought, and as well to see what you swell people of the forums think?

 

1. It's been a long time but BJ came through with a big performance. Hopefully he can keep it up!

 

2.Where was that Rampage against Rashad?

 

And on an unrelated note. This fight proved to me how sh*ty Rashad truly is. He fought the absolute worst version of Rampage to ever step foot in an octagon and still barely escaped with his consciousness intact. Now this Rampage against Machida looked 10000x more prepared and in shape.

 

3.Having said that. Machida looked too gunshy from the begining. When Machida finally relaxed and settled into his own he blew Rampage apart in the third round.

 

4.Machida took a couple solid shots on the chin from Page and wasnt even wobbled. What this proved to me is something I knew for a long time. Machida has a great chin and Shogun just has awesome under rated vicious Knockout power.

 

On another unrelated note Shogun fought and beat one of the best versions of Machida Ive seen so far in the octagon IMO.

 

(Hopefully Machida comes in confident against Rampage in their rematch.)

 

5. I was also super impressed with Machida's ground game. The second Shogun fight just proved how great Shogun's ground game is.

 

6.Over all I enjoyed the fight, but Machida was robbed to the second degree. The whole bar I was at boo'd the hell out of the decision and my friends and I ****** jumped up in dusgust. I was heated.

 

But I was impressed with Rampage's humility admitting thst Machida won. Rampage is a class act and I now remember why I was a fan of his in the first place.

 

In conclusion I really feel bad that Machida was robbed, but I'm happy Rampage was such a class act and made the whole robbery a little easier to swallow.

 

I want the rematch and I truly hope Machida shows up this time from the begining

Loved the post and agree with prettty much all of it. But I dont think Lyoto was robbed, but I do think he won the fight, I had rampage round 1 Lyoto round 2 do to his grappling and his leg kicks, * which are VERY underatted in mma these days, and round 3 I had Lyoto big, So I think if anything it should have been a Draw, but hey never leave it in the JUDGES hands.

So basically the main event proved why Shogun is the greatest LHW of all time? I agree then :P

 

Awesome card, loved every minute of it, except the third round of the Harris/Falcao fight.

I saw everyone ****** boo that decision.

 

Me and my friends jumped up in disgust.

 

It was a high way robbery But Rampage's great show of humility will have lessened the backlash IMO.

 

Rampage was being aggressive, but the difference was he was not effectively landing all that much. When Shogun was coming forward he was landing kicks and punches here and there. When Rampage was coming forward he was hitting air most of the time while Machida was landing leg kicks

 

Look, honestly no one IMO won rounds 1 or 2, but Machida ****** blasted Page in the third, had him mounted, and had 2 submission attempts .

 

Machida won that round HUGE IMO and should've won the fight but at the least I can understand a draw

p.s Sorry my thread came out like that.

 

Shogun is the #1 guy and Page/Machida/Rashad are all contenders so these are my honest observations of an important fight that took place in the division tonight and how all the performances between them have stacked up, but I tried to mostly focus on Lyoto and Page. I tied ;)lol

 

And yeah man this was a sick card. One of the best I've seen in a while.

 

Exciting and competitive fights/Big Knockout/Submissions ect

 

Only thing I was disappointed in was Machida's performance in rounds 1 and 2.

 

But then again Machida finally settled into his own and blew Rampage away in the third.

 

For Machida to step into the ring after suffering one of the most brutal knockouts I've ever seen took lots of courage

 

Machida was too gunshy because of it though, but he got his old timing and rythem back in the third and really destroyed one of the best versions of Rampage there has ever been.

 

I am now a true fan of Machida's and Rampage's honesty and humility re made me a fan of his as well .

 

The only thing I'm hating right now is the ******* blind and retarded judges

 

I want a rematch!!

Its not about that.

 

Everyone was saying "Oh it only takes one clean shot from Page"

 

Well, Page landed more then one clean shot and Machida was still standing.

 

So is Page's power over rated ?

 

Or is Shogun's power under rated?

 

Shogun actualy did wobble Machida with a right before the knockdown. "He got nailed"

 

And simply put, Shogun hit Machida and Machida dropped.

 

Rampage hit Machida clean on the spot and on the chin, which would have been worse for Machida, but Machida took them nicely

 

However when ever Shogun would land on Machida you could see Machida reacting very poorly to it and getting hurt and almost being in a panic
