Rampage Poor Performance.

Alright there is so many topics on this fight but I'm not going to scroll through the millions to post my own input. I want to blow off some steam.

Machida won that fight or it should have been a draw. All you people need to stop being blinded by your biased judgement.

Rampage showed he can swing for the fences and cut angles in the stand up. Throw the odd kick and attempt to be on top of Machida for how long? The only effective thing I seen him do in those 3 rounds is that upper cut and left on the jaw. Everything else was aggressiveness to just hope for anything to connect.....Machida was more aggressive when he would come in and mix it up. How the **** did Rampage win that fight??? Other than this so called octagon control. Did Joe Rogan help convince you guys that he won it?

So now we get to see another ****ing rematch to get bored with. What if the rematch goes the same way? I can't see it going any different. Rampage will be the same style and Machida will try to counter and engage randomly. So why the **** would anyone want to watch a rematch.

I feel bad for the betters on fights. The judging is so messed up and you all know that. You can't say Rampage won convincingly if Rampage himself at the end of the fight turned to Machida and said "You won". Then have the look of shock on his face. Oh that's just him being humble?

I like both fighters but that decision was pathetic. Rampage showed he is being one dimensional and can't mix up anything. He can survive on the ground and swing for the fences. How do you think he'd beat Shogun? He won't be relevant again. He hasn't shown he's still the Pride form.

I feel better :). Anyways all the other fights were great and I honestly can't believe how many fighters got screwed from the boxing judges of MMA. We need to change the judging or it'll just continue to get worse. 50$ for an event to watch fighters get put back in the line? That's no fun for any real MMA fan.

I actually thought Rampage looked great in this fight. It just had the same problem, I believe, as the Mir/Cro Cop fight.

Rampage didn't want to give any openings for Machida to take advantage of, and Machida didn't want to leave himself vulnerable to those WMDs that are Rampage's fists. It was a contrast of styles that was destined to leave the fight slightly wanting.

But Rampage did look awesome in this fight. Looking forward to what's next for him.

I agree. The styles for the fight seemed like it would have been more exciting. Like the Mirko/Mir fight. I honestly just probably ranting because of the knuckle heads acting like Rampage was tearing Machida apart with his aggressive stance.

I will correct myself. Rampage looked fine but he got lucky with that decision and he knows it. Machida did what he does best and fell short. It was his fault he was too scared to engage more. Doesn't mean Rampage should have won that fight and then people act like he's back from Pride.

If anything, it should have been a draw. I think Machida barely got round 1(but it was nearly a tie), and sealed the deal with his domination in round 3. Take away the nearly-impossible-to-score round 1, and we get ourselves a tie.

But still.. Round 3 was such a commanding victory that I think Lyoto really deserved it. Damn shame.

So its only bias if were don't share your opinion. I get it

Not necessarily bias. The majority of the fans on this board were rooting for Rampage and just stuck to the excuse of octagon control. Ask most of them. I bet you anyone that was on the fence with this fight. Mostly seen Machida winning that fight by a point or it being a draw.

We all have different views but this is to everyone that acts like Rampage won decisively.

I'm not impressed by your thread.

Rampage came in an underdog against the number 2 LHW' date=' IMO, in the world and beat him. End of story.

Page looked in awesome condition tonight and this Rampage would beat Rashad in a rematch.[/quote']

Agreed. Combine Rampage's desire from this fight, combined with whatever he did leading up to the Dan Henderson fight, Rampage would tear Rashad up.

How would he tear Rashad up. I actually am not fond of Rashad. He just showed he can survive 3 rounds. How is Rampage looking any different than his previous fights? Rashad would just take him down and dry **** him to death after bouncing around(Machida style) again. The only way I see Rampage winning another match with Rashad would be clipping him. Even then his stand up is predictable. Rashad would just beat his leg to death and make him wobbly on his feet.

I really like Rampage but he'll just continue to keep getting beat if he just relies on his power in his hands.

Drink much? Rampage threw way more strikes than Machida did in Round 1. "Nearly" isn't going to cut it since Rampage had the edge both in Round 1 and 2.

By the scorecards he won, by the fightmetric he won, by the majority of us on the forum, he won, by you, well... not everyone has problems judging an easy-to-judge round in my opinion.

Rampage putting pressure by constantly coming forward is hard for any fighter to deal with.

And note how I mentioned the training leading up to the Dan Henderson fight, a fight than Rampage completely owned in the ground. If Rampage could bring that back, Rashad wouldn't be able to get a win based on takedowns. If anything, Rampage would end up getting a win via GnP or UD due to takedowns.

Rampage has always possessed the elements to make him one of the greatest LHW's that will ever compete in the sport. He's just never really managed to put them all together and taking on someone like Machida and how well he did was the first huge step in that direction.

An in-shape, motivated, hungry Rampage is a dangerous and legitimate threat to anyone at LHW. I didn't acknowledge it before, but I do now.
