Dana White confirms that he has scrapped the Ellenburger vs Fitch match at Ufc 126 and instead is having Jon Fitch fight BJ Penn at UFC 127 in Australia!!!!

I cant wait for this fight, simply because I want to see Fitch get KTFO finally!!! He is one of the only fighters I cant stand to watch simply (and I know this term is overused) he is a Lay N Pray fighter. Fitch is the one of the only fighters that I consider a Lay N Pray type. His opponents usually walk out of the cage without a mark on them. And he is SOOOOO boring to watch. I dont think Fitch's takedowns are all that great and I think BJ will be able to defend them pretty easily.

Im tired of Fitch......thank you Dana White!!

Go PENN!!!

THOUGHTS ON THIS??? ANYONE???

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. ? On the heels of BJ Penn's quick and decisive win over Matt Hughes at UFC 123 on Saturday night, UFC president Dana White said he's already picked Penn's next opponent.

After the post-fight press conference, White told a small group of reporters that Penn will stay at welterweight and will next face Jon Fitch at UFC 127 in Sydney, Australia, on February 26.

"I already made the fight," White said. "Him and Fitch in Sydney."

That's a new opponent for Fitch, who was expected to face Jake Ellenberger at UFC 126 on Feb. 5. Since losing a decision to welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre at UFC 87, Fitch has won five straight ? all unanimous decisions.

White, though, said the Fitch-Penn fight is not necessarily a top contenders fight for the welterweight title.

"If BJ beats Fitch, if Fitch beats BJ, they're both in the mix," White said.

Penn handed Hughes the quickest knockout loss of his career, ending the fight in just 21 seconds. Penn snapped a two-fight skid with the win ? both losses to lightweight champion Frankie Edgar. The loss was Hughes' first since UFC 85, ending a three-fight winning streak.

Though Penn had said leading up to the fight against Hughes that he had designs on going back and forth between lightweight and welterweight, at the post-fight press conference he said he would put that call in White's hands.

And White said he prefers Penn at 170 pounds right now.

"BJ Penn comes in and and looks like the absolute world beater, best pound-for-pound in the world, and the next fight he doesn't ? you just don't know," White said. "I can tell you this ? he looks better at 170 than he does at 155. The BJ Penn that walked into the Octagon tonight reminds me of the BJ Penn of old."

UFC 127 is expected to take place at the Acer Arena in Sydney. Bouts already likely for the card include Carlos Condit vs. Chris Lytle, Michael Bisping vs. Jorge Rivera and, also announced at the UFC 123 press conference, Australia native George Sotiropoulos vs. Dennis Siver.

Man I hope Bj runs thru him. Fitch is so well rounded and has great cardio though so I doubt this will be an easy fight for Bj. Lucky for him he can start training right away knowing he won't have to cut to 155. I really respect Fitch but he is the most boring guy in the division and I hope Penn chokes him out. After that it should be Shields.

im just looking out for his best interests. if he wins' date=' he may feel he deserves another shot at GSP, and Im just thinking that getting cuddled by Fitch is a lot better than getting raped by GSP[/quote']

Not really because

GSP>>>>Fitch.

Losing to GSP isn't as torturous as having to have fitch burn your chest with his facial hair while he Lays n Prays he doesn't get submitted.

I just hope he can still do that' date=' that's very very impressive.

He used to be untakedownable at one point in his career, was said to have the best TDD in MMA and he isn't even a wrestler!

I hope we see [b']that[/b] BJ Penn to destroy Fitch because honestly, yes this fight was perfect for BJ but he didn't really show anything (like cardio, a refocused athlete attitude), so I hope this fight means the old BJ is back, but I'm still not sure. He did however show his old savage ways again which we haven't seen since Diego Sanchez.. Like even before the fight he was like an animal, angrily talking to himself and going ****ing crazy when he won.

How fast the fight ended is why I don't want to say BJ is back. It ended too quick to show us a whole lot about BJ. We all knew he had deadly hands that wasn't the question mark for me. The real question is does he continue to crumble when things do not go his way in the first few rounds or does he show resolve. That's what I want answered.

I'm so stoked. Fitch is my favorite, but my god I love watching Penn also. I think BJ is going to win by submission, but I'm not counting Fitch out. Penn has questionable cardio at WW, and Fitch can grind people down like no other. "no dood. Itz kalled Laynpray and it dosnt take skill. He juzt layz on them bro"

I can't wait!
