I'd take Forrest over Rashad in a rematch without hesitation.

 

Forest was beating Rashad's a$s for TWO rounds untill he got to comfortable with a sizeable lead and got lazy and then caught in a luck finish.

 

In a 3 round fight Forrest beats Rashad eazy.

Agreed. Griffin gets way to little respect on this forum. Dude beat Rua(injured or not) Rampage and was tooling Rashad until he got taken down in the third.

If you think about it these are strong performances against 3 of the 5 top guys.

Forrest is legit.

I agree after his fight with Anderson, people have been giving him a lot of crap and have been making jokes about him non stop, the guy was a former champion give him some respect.

Yes some people will just remember one bad fight. Anderson is a stylisticly just a very bad matchup for Forrest and tbh Forrest fought against him stupidly. I am sure he could do much better with a different gameplan.

Winning the first round means he was not "tooled"

 

In the second round Shogun took Forrest's big goofy *** down and executed him dead center in the forehead with a huge elbow

 

Shogun was in no way what so ever tooled leading up to the finish

 

A legit injury is a reason not an excuse.

 

Shogun was not even performing up to half of his abilities and his mobility and cardiovascular were greatly affected. Despite all this Shogun still gave Forrest the fight of his life

Everyone comes in banged up in a fight. It's part of fighting. It's not Forrest's fault or anyone elses fault that they don't suffer from old lady ligaments and that Shogun does. Maybe Shogun shouldn't have fought, he knew what he was getting in to.

What have Shogun fans said, that they think Shogun won the first fight against Machida? That he is the best fighter in the world? That Machida is boring cause he is always back pedaling? Ive never ones read a post where a Shogun fan blatantly attacks another fighter like Shogun haters do. Ive read post by Shogun haters who hope that he breaks his arm during a fight like he did against Coleman, saying how funny that was.There has been post were people wish that his knees would go out during a fight so his career would end.How could people wish these things on another person?

Once you realize I didn't, breathe out. I'm just calling him a scub, at least compared to what these people think of him. Shogun is the champ yes, but he's not untouchable like his danglers seem to believe. I'm just being realistic when I say it's likely he will lose his first title defense, opposed to his fans saying he will retire with the LHW belt...

Put Silva's name instead of Shogun, MW instead of LHW and next instead of first and I tend to agree.

I never said that you were the one who posted these things, I meant in general. Why do you doubt Shogun? You must have a reason right? Why have you taken it upon yourself to disprove Shogun? He is the champion, he KO'd Machida he is a very impressive fighter.There are a lot of people in these forums who believe their favorite fighter is untouchable have you tried disproving them as well? Start with the GSP fans first and work your way up to Anderson Silva fans.

I did 'battle' the GSP fans a while back, they have become more humble and logical since then. Plus, I see more guys on here saying 'OHEMGEE Shogun is P4P best in anything!!!!! He would murder Silva and GSP in a 2 on 1 fight ROXORZZZZZZZ He is GOD!!!!!" than I do Silva or GSP fans. I have never said Shogun sucks (unless I was just trying to be ridicoulous, to counter the ****s), I just say that he has not exactly proven himself thus far in the UFC, based on his 3 lack luster performances against anyone not named Lyoto Machida. Yes, he was good against Lyoto, but I want to wait and see how he fares against another opponent in the UFC. These guys act like Shogun is the Chuck Norris of the MMA world.

Dude people say ridiculous things about all the top fighters in the UFC, especially Anderson Silva,its all part of being a fan you shouldn't take that so seriously. As far as waiting to see how Shogun does against other opponents, I agree lets wait and see how he does, but he is the LH champion and deserves all the praise he is getting.Just like Machida and all the other champions before him.

Rampage did? Rashad did? Forrest did? Chuck? Well, maybe Chuck, but it was a different era when Chuck was still winning. And I even battled the Lyoto fans up until his loss, they were getting enough crap from the Shogun fans, so I needed not to debate them. And now I'm seeing the same thing, people claimed Machida was a God, which I dared to defy them and tell them why they are delusional, and they, just like these guys, told me just wait, I'm wrong. Now it's the same with the Shogun fans.

 

Personally, I just can't stand people who are so very illogical. I will always debate agaisnt them. And these guys just cram Shogun is P4P best crap down everyone's throat, and their reasoning is, nah nah, just because, and they can't even be reasonable and possibly see it another way. I guess you just have to know who to take seriously (I could even take SCO more seriously, he was somewhat more reasonable than these guys)

I agree, and this is one of the reasons I would love to see them fight each other.I hoped Rampage would get a KO as well haha

The fight does make sense tho. Shogun will be coming off a loss to Evans and Griffin will be coming off a loss to Franklin. This fight could happen as soon as September providing Shogun doesn't need surgery after his next fight.

 

That fight would make no sence... Shogun top 5, forrest pushing for a spot in the top 15

It only appears that I am discrediting a fighter, cause I'm trying to show them how ridiculous they are being. However ridiculous you can be in favor of Shogun, or any fighter, I'll be just as ridiculous, but against him. I just try to be reasonable and realistic with my views, and it can't hurt to try to get others to at least try to see the same way. Ever been to the Strikeforce forums? They have zero logic over there. I went over there for quite some time showing them that their logic is flawed, and all they did was flame me and say "nu uh!".

 

I've stated my real views on Shogun, which is that he to me, is still clouded in mystery of how good he really is, in the UFC. Yes, he was superb in Pride, but nothing from Pride has successfully carried over into the UFC, other than maybe Silva, but I'd hardly call him a true Pride fighter.

 

Even the fighters I'm a fan of, I don't always buy all the hype of the nut-crazed fans. Fedor? WAY too much hype by some, but a lot of it is well deserved, and a lot of fans are still reasonable and knowledgeable and back their claims up. Silva? Yeah, he has the few fans that will not even back up their claims, more "nu uh" guys, but again, he is unbeaten in 4 years.

Well I hope Shogun does well in his upcoming fights and proves that he deserves praise. IMO Shogun has what it takes to be relevant in the LH division, and I hope he defends his belt as long as possible.I understand how hard it is to maintain your position as champion especially in the LH division.
