Fedor, Lyoto, BJ Penn, and in some ways Anderson Silva were all dethroned (Silva's is more questionable - lost the battle, won the war) this year. Would not surprise me at all. I thought that BJ Penn's fights leading up to Frankie Edgar looked more dominant than any of GSP's latest fights. BJ was still dethroned. Same thing with Lyoto and Silva.

With Fedor, it's been so long since he had fought it wasn't entirely shocking that he would lose, nor was there any way to gauge his current fighting skill at the time of his loss.

Edit: Add Urijah to that list also. Possibly Brock.

1. as a champion, you can't put lyoto in the same category as the others, not even close

2. Anderson wasn't dethroned, if anything he was crowned so I don't know what you're talking about.

Yeah, I think Faber had already lost before this year, and I dont think thats a very good reason to say GSP will lose.
