Why Matt Hughes Lost

Contrary to popular belief, BJ Penn didn?t win the fight? Matt Hughes lost it.

?What is the difference?? I hear you say ? Good question.

Well, it goes like this. Matt Hughes came into the fight knowing it would be a grappling struggle.

His stand up is far superior to BJ (and indeed most of the welterweight division ? barring of course Amir Sadollah)? so BJ wouldn?t stand and trade.

And we all know Hawaiians get claustrophobic is the clinch? so BJ would pull guard in any clinch / dirty boxing situation.

? So he knew that the fight would be won and lost on the ground.

Being a ground fight, Matt was instantly on the back foot due to the Andy Irons death.

?What does that have to do with anything? I hear you say ? Again Good question.

Well A.I was a Hawaiian and a close personal friend of BJ?s.

A.I?s untimely death earlier this month was reported to be due to a methadone overdose.

However this is ridiculous as we all know that surfers don?t do drugs.

So the real story is, BJ choked A.I. out using a new choke that doesn?t even have a name yet ... I know AWESOME. Apparently its like a go-go plata combined with a one-armed D?arce choke.

Anywho being a new move, BJ wasn?t sure when to let go and A.I never had a chance to tap.

Apparently Matt would have bee able to defend the new choke if Kyle Watson was available to train with him at the H.I.T. Squad in the lead up to the fight.

However, due to TUF s12 commitments, Kyle was unable to prepare Matt for the move.

Fearing this move and its deathly consequences, Matt Hughes threw the fight in the first 23 seconds by pretending to be knocked out by a glancing blow.

So there it is? Matt Hughes lost it, BJ didn?t win it.

LOL' date=' Stupid Matt Hughes. I dont like BJ or Matt, so the outcome of this fight would be win win as far as im concerned. I am happy that Matt went home and cried. He is an idiot.[/quote']

Most people that dont like Matt or BJ are fans of Brock and Gsp. My experience anyway.

Hard to hear someone not liking 2 legends who have successfully captured belts and defended them without a tiny bit of speculation of your rookieism.

Respecting what they have done, and thinking they are good people are two very different things. I like to watch them lose. If one of them has to win in devistating fashion for that to happen, than so be it.

GSP is my boy, but i'm pushing for Kos for the good of the division, and in want of a heel as champ.

Brock, i can take or leave. I am digging Cain as champ.
