ThE_KiNg_Of_ThE_rInG
Crappy!!! I love this guy, and was really looking forward to seeing him enter the Ufc. But after a severe back injury, he is sidelined for another 3 months....bummer http://insidefights.com/2010/11/24/jose-aldo-injured-out-of-ufc-125/ It was announced Tuesday afternoon that the newly crowned UFC Featherweight champion Jose Aldo will not be able to participate in his next title defense which was scheduled for January 1 against Josh Grispi. Aldo suffered an undisclosed injury during training for the fight and now the UFC is left to once against find a co-main event for the New Year?s Day card. Originally it was scheduled to be Roy Nelson vs. Shane Carwin until Carwin withdrew due to a back injury. Aldo officially became the UFC Featherweight champion on Saturday at a ceremony in Auburn Hills, MI. It is part of the ongoing merge between the two Zuffa brands, UFC and WEC. He won the title in November of 2009 against Mike Brown and has defended it twice since against Urijah Faber and Manny Gamburyan. http://www.mmamania.com/2010/11/24/1834178/junior-camp-jose-aldo-could-return-in-three-months-after-tough-task Quoteworthy: "It was such a really tough task for me to convince him not to fight. He wanted to fight anyway. He was really excited to make his UFC debut, but I told him [fighting] in such a crisis state, he may have really serious problems. He argued that he wanted to fight anyway, that people would think he was chickening out, but I insisted and convinced him ... It was really hard. It was like hell for me. He was really disappointed and even cried after we made the decision. But finally, now we made the right decision. He?ll start physiotherapy and I think, in three months, he can finally make his Octagon debut." Head of Nova Uniao, Andre Pederneiras, reveals the difficulty in convincing newly-minted UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo to withdraw from his UFC 125 title defense against Josh Grispi after suffering from chronic pain in his arm due to "a reduction of the space between some vertebrae, and between C5 and C6, [that] was touching the medulla." Now the Brazilian phenom will be forced to recuperate on the sidelines to avoid future surgery and may return in as little as three months. Does "The Fluke" wait him out? Or will the UFC replace "Junior" on the Jan. 1 pay-per-view?

Martino231
Yeah this was posted a lot yesterday. Not much to say other than it's a shame and certainly damages the UFC 125 card quite a lot.
