So why exactly was Gerald Harris cut?

the more i think about it, i think it comes down to his performance. if you're down 2 rounds, you might as well go for broke in the 3rd which he didn't do. i think Dana cut Harris hopefully to make a point (though I doubt it will get through to everybody). hopefully we'll see him again later on down the road.

You already answered your own question' date=' you just don't like the answer.[/quote']

Yup. Quite true.

Yeah' date=' just like with Efrain being cut.

Madness.[/quote']

Efrain got cut because he didn't make weight and because he had only gone 2-2 since winning TUF. Missing weight really hurt him more than his record, as Dana has a history of disliking that.

I think the Escudero cut was honestly more justified than the Harris one. Escudero also had a small history of being not as professional - I heard on a talk show he was out partying late before his fight with Dunham in January.

whats happening is that there is more competition for the UFC roster. More people are doing MMA so theres more and more people at a high enough level to get into the UFC. If one guy puts on a lackluster performance once, there are 50 savage finishing guys waiting to take his spot. The sport is just getting more competitive thats all.
