How f****** good was he today?!?!?! 6 wickets and a hatrick day one of the Ashes!!!

Cop that poms you talked yourselfs up and it's already come back to bite you.

Can't wait for a dominate Aussie bating performance tommorow. I'm tipping Punter to make a big ton.

I hope you took the day off school young Tom ??

It was great to watch..

I nearly dropped my beer when Siddle got the hatrick instead of necking it...

And Katich and Punter to get big tonnes 2morrow....

Cricket.

Its a yearly tournament between Australia (who as you can see' date=' actually care) & the English (who largely do not).[/quote']

If you don't no what your talking about then best to say nothing at all.

It is not a 'yearly tournament' it is a series of five tests that take palce either every 15 or every 30 months.

And when the poms won in 2005 I would have thought those celebrations and the Queen honoring every member of the English team suggests that the poms do care.

Well I didn't take the day off but I watched the start on my phone and saw Hilffy get the third ball wicket (re****ed in me and my mates getting a few stares when we got very excitited). I was home before lunch so I got to atleast watch the rest of it.

Kind of validates my point don't you think. Honestly don't know anyone in England under 60 who watches the cricket apart from private school kids.

Rugby we do care about yeah, so when you beat us at that then we are gutted but the ashes isn't that big a deal. Sorry if that dissappoints you.

You only care when you win... And don't say that is not true

Its not true.

I can only speak for the people i personally know but seriously does not affect us. Only just noticed on your other thread that apparently we actually won last time.

Sadly the cricket team does not get the coverage they perhaps deserve but football & rugby are the 2 biggest games hence us being gutted if you beat us at either of them, (rugby, you usually do).

Football &rugby = working class

Cricket = middle/upper class.

Thats just how its percieved here.

Tom ive gota quote you on a minor mistake.

The poms didnt win in 2005 we did 5-0....

That was when Warne / McGrath etc all retired...

The poms won it back off us last year...

And now its our turn to get it back.

Valid point.

Honestly couldn't tell you' date=' can only speak for myself & people i know.[/quote']

Now then.

I have lots of British mates that are younger like me... mid to late 20"s that follow test cricket and mainly the Ashes religously...

NOT just over 60"s.

Just saying.

Actually, the poms won it on 2005/06, we won 5-0 in 2006/07, and they won it in 2009/10, and we will win it in 2010/11
