he has a medal because he literally scored the winning goal. washington is stacked more than pittsburgh. and you know what you'll never see from ovie? him back checking.

 

ovie is crappier than corsby and he plays with semin and backstrom. syd outperforms him and he plays with pascal dupuie and chris kunitz. it's no contest. syd is way better. stamkos is better now too.

You're commenting on his early instances of being a tad over emotional about things.............that's long gone.

 

Don't get my wrong, I love Ovechkin too...........but he won't be around anywhere NEAR as long as Crosby. The differential will be huge.

 

DV is spot on. Ovechkin doesn't have the leadership abilities of Crosby. He'll be hard pressed to win a Cup..............

 

I guarantee you that when they're both done, the gap between them in legendary status will be massive. Like Bobby Orr to Borje Salming difference.

He has never made one out of line comment in the media. He has never had one off ice incident. He is the best role model for kids in pro sports today. He even went to Halifax town council and made them reverse their ruling on banning street hockey. He might be chirpie on the ice, but he doesn't ever do anything off of it.

i dont like to choose sides i respect both their talent but when your talking two way hockey last season Ovie played less games had the same amount of points(109...Crosby:51 goals, 58 Assists, Ovie:50 goals, 59 assists) 9 less games and was +45 Crosby was +15 which is terrible if you have 109 points...in my personal opinion they are two completely different players, Crosby uses his brain where as Ovie uses his heart and power.

 

 

so far this season Crosby is once again beating Ovie in points by 7 points but Sid is only +4 with 36 points(once again not good at all) Ovie is only +6 but he has less points. all this being said Ovie tends to spend more time in the penalty box which can cost the team a lot really. but their penalty mins are pretty close too

 

basically they are both nasty but two different types of players who bring different styles of play

i could care less how much more hardware hes won with TEAM CANADA!!!

and you cant tell me the pens were not stacked when they won the cup

 

the only reason they got past the caps was cuz Varlomov is a peice of **** who couldnt stop a beach ball

you read too much into the stats. crosby plays with nobody and ovie plays with talented guys. crosby would get more points if he played with the level of talent ovie plays with. also, crosby is amongst the best face off men in the NHL and if you watch, rather than look at numbers, he actually is a defensively sound player whereas ovie never sees the inside of his own blue line, and has a good +- because plays on a better team.

did gretzky dive? i mean besides wat burtuzzi did, diving is the worst thing you can do in hockey

 

crosby is on par with darius kasparitis in the diving area

He doesn't play with Malkin, except for on the power play. His wingers are Kunitz and Dupuis. And Letestu this year, who I've never even heard of. Ovie plays with Backstrom and lots of the time, Semin too. comrie is shyte too man, he isn't good enough to play for some AHL teams.

comrie is a fast little guy, if your fast, your good

 

and the only good players on the caps are his line, that is all besides Poti, who really is kinda a big peice of **** too

Meh. I don't see it. He might embellish for the odd call. Ovi flat out charges guys, jumps off the ice, and puts his hands in guys faces and gets suspended for being such a dirty player. He has been on the top 5 dirtiest players in the NHL list, as voted by the players themselves, for a few years consecutively now. Only Chris Pronger is considered a dirtier player.

Mike Green is the best offensive defenseman in the NHL. Fehr, Laich, Knuble, Fleischmann, are all better forwards than Pittsburgh's wingers. alzner is good on defense. schultz is really good on defense. Carlsson has proven to be really good this year too. Washington has the best roster on paper in the NHL. Pittsburgh has 3 good center ice men and that's is. They have nothing else up front. Their defense and goalie are okay but whatever. Comrie is not fast and he's not even there this year.

and hitting is a HUGE part of hockey, can crosby hit? no, can he whine about being hit? does he dive at the slightest touch or when a stick is even near his skates? sure does

 

dirty player?? ovie?! he got suspended for pushing a guy. the guy lost his footing and slammed the boards hard cuz they were both chasing for the puck

that happens ALL THE TIME, being canadian you should know that

 

theres always a push before the puck is even touched, this guy lost his footing, got hurt, ovie suspended

 

wanna talk about nhl players votes? who got voted to be the whiny-est player?

I wouldn't quite say Ovechkin is dirty, although he does leave his feet quite a bit.

 

The fact is this:

 

When Ovechkin was a prospect in Russia, he had ZERO physical game, and if anyone remembers the juniors, Canada beat this piss out of him, took him off his game and cleaned them.

 

Now, Ovechkin deserves MAD props for being noted as a *****, then coming into the NHL and being in the Top 5 in hits, while potting 50 + goals. No question, the guy is a beast.................and so is Crosby.

 

The fundamental difference is that the talent Crosby brings to the game and his team is FUNDAMENTALLY more important than what Alex brings.

Nobody is saying it's about fighting. But it's a reality............

 

And you're smoking ether if you think Ovechkin even knows how to throw a punch.

 

 

Anyone who objectively watches pro-league hockey who can say Sidney Crosby isn't the best talent in the game is a off their rocker.

 

The closest guy is Stamkos, as noted by DV................if he played on a deeper team, I'd hate to see what that kid could do.
