Why people need to stop hating The Fitch

John Fitch has become one of the most polarizing figures in the MMA communtiy. Half side with the "He's boring as **** and can't sell a fight and needs to finish somebody" and the other side expressing "He's and amazing fighter with a very effective style." I side with the latter because

 

1-He has 13 wins in the Octagon.

2- Only UFC loss to GSP

3- In all of his 13 wins I CAN'T REMEMBER HIM LOSING A SINGLE ROUND.

4- His style forces his opponent to fight his fight and actually beat him.

5- His style will insure he will have a very long career and will probably break Hughes's win record.

6-He takes little to no damage in his fights when he's not facing French Canadians.

7- He has the best cardio at 170 and possibly in the entire game.

 

Feel free to agree or disagree and please use valid points. That means that dude who made the rediculous "Diego is better P4P than BJ" post is not allowed.

Fitch is a great fighter, probably, well..., he's a phenomenal Wrestler anyway. That's just it, he is so ****ing boring that you'll be hard pressed to find any casual fan, that isn't a collegiate Wrestling enthusiast, that will be a fan of his. I personally can't stand all the non-fighting Wrestlers, him, Sonnen, Lawall, or any of them ****, so I'm definitely not fan of his and would love to watch him get absolutely torn apart by GSP again, this time resulting in his retirement or at least being cut by the UFC. Thing is, Fitch is so good at the 1 aspect of MMA, that he doesn't need to be good at anything else to win fights. He is the new age Okami. I remember when Okami was discussed about getting a shot at Silva, before he got trounced by Fail, but him being so ****ing boring played a huge part in him not getting the shot quicker. Same thing will happen to Fitch, successful at controlling for the win, but so ****ing boring, the fans don't want to see him fight for the title.

i agree that the casual fans don't want to see him but the guy gets the W's. He gets alot of them. I'm not a fan of his style but a guy who wins that many fights has to be doing something right. He deserves another shot at GSP too so you might get your wish haha. I will feel kind of sad if he doesn't. He deserves one over his curly headed tool of a friend anyday. He would also destroy Kos.

Sorry, feeling like a smart *** today. I have much respect for Jon Fitch and I hate Gray Maynard. Simple reasons - Fitch says the truth. He says he's going to go out there, wear his opponent down and grind them down for a victory. Maynard goes out and talks nonsense saying he's going to knock someone out or submit them. He said he was going to submit KenFlo. LOL!!! At least Fitch knows his role.

Very true. If French Canadians weren't allowed in the UFC, Fitch would own that whole division. I feel kind of bad for the guy.

But you can't argue with the Dubs. I don't believe it when a fighter says that they would rather have an exciting loss that a boring victory. All that matters is the dub. You can make an argument against that but the dub is the equalizer.

 

Fitch never gets a title shot because of it though.

Disgraceful finishing average.

heres my 2 cents on jon fitch. i'm a huge fan of fitch. outside the ring. he is an effin class act guy that never talks trash and works his *** off to be a better fighter. his qualitys as a human being are why i dont mind his curse of ud's. not to mention this guy is perennially fighting the who's who of 170.

Yeah' date=' but he acknowledges this and doesn't whine about it so I really don't have a problem with it. Plus you can always guarantee a solid bathroom break/beer run during his fights.

The difference between GSP and Fitch is that GSP actually tries to finish fights.
