Furiousmat
you gotta take the fighter as he is now not how his whole carreer went down years ago. UFC is the biggest organisation right now. Following your logic I could say Silva sucks bad because he lost in the past against guys who aren't even in the UFC now. IMO the main diffrence between Silva and GSP is that Silva is more spectacular. His skills are more focussed than GSP. Silva is all kill. He's got 2 weapons to his arsenald : his muay thai and his subs from the guard. But both these weapons are as sharp as razorblades.. GSP's strenght is the fact that he is very well rounded. No matter who he faces he has the possibility of taking the fight where his opponent is less comfortable and to avoid his strengths by doing so. They have very diffrent ways so it's hard to really compare..
WeedDemon
In my opinion GSP has faced better competition and more consistently as well. Funny how TS says in "the octagon" just so no one can mention his losses outside of the octagon. Fact is Anderson has lost before. He has lost to Yushin Okami (DQ), Ryo Chonan, Daiju Takase, and Luiz Azeredo. While GSP has losses to Matt Hughes and Matt Serra. bacon_n_jelly
Anderson has lost to a few cans that he never avenged, GSP lost to two UFC champions and avenged the losses by finishing them. Albeit Silva's dominance didn't happen until after those losses. Both are great fighters and are neck an neck for the top p4p spot. p4p is all opinion, so none of us are technically wrong, but i look at it this way: GSP has not lost a round since the first Koscheck fight, thats winning at least 28 rounds in a row. He's won 8 fights in a row. Silva has won 12 in a row in the ufc, but he previously lost rounds in the lutter, henderson, and sonnen fights. He was damn close to sonnen beating him. but he won. it makes it a tough call, but i call GSP the best p4p mixed martial artist. I call Anderson the best p4p fighter, but gsp is close to that. bacon_n_jelly
Reported Bubba for posting fight gifs.... Cheers... Technically the fight starts when the bell rings, until then it's just two guys standing in a cage, hence why they would be charged with assault if they hit each other before said bell. the GIF is legal

You're arguing that Silva was outstriking Sonnen from the bottom, how can that be the case when he was losing the fight very, very blatantly in every round? He was getting dominated and controlled.
