Funny that the promotion that has both men under cintract says it's Anderson. But now Worries, Anderson will reclaim his spot after he beats Vitor.

Anderson held Sherdogs top spot for 30+ months lets see Greasy do that.

First off Anderson is unbelievable but people discredit GSP's achievments way to often. Anderson's first fight in the UFC was at age 30. GSP is currently 29. How old was Anderson when he got heel hooked by Ryo ???

P.S. Anderson greased in the Maia fight, so you are kind of **** talking your own favorite fighter by calling him greasy.

Silva has lost more times than GSP and hasn't avenged any of his losses.

Lets be honest tho.

He is the current Middleweight champ and the longest reigning champ in the history of UFC with 13 consecutive wins,he akso holds the longest active winning streak in the UFC and the record for the longest winning streak in UFC history

and he's 35, i doubt that when GSP is 35 he will be as dominent as Silva.

Actually even if he does beat Vitor, he won't reclaim "THE" spot. Reason being is that Vitor is not even in consideration on the P4P list. But! GSP is fighting Jake Sheilds who is.... So When GSP wins he will still be ahead in ranking points.

Did it even matter in that Fight? he did what GSP did and thats have a boring fight except he actually avoided being touched for the most part xD Silva is P4P best in my book GSP in a close 2nd though.

you gotta take the fighter as he is now not how his whole carreer went down years ago.

UFC is the biggest organisation right now. Following your logic I could say Silva sucks bad because he lost in the past against guys who aren't even in the UFC now.

IMO the main diffrence between Silva and GSP is that Silva is more spectacular. His skills are more focussed than GSP. Silva is all kill. He's got 2 weapons to his arsenald : his muay thai and his subs from the guard. But both these weapons are as sharp as razorblades.. GSP's strenght is the fact that he is very well rounded. No matter who he faces he has the possibility of taking the fight where his opponent is less comfortable and to avoid his strengths by doing so. They have very diffrent ways so it's hard to really compare..

In my opinion GSP has faced better competition and more consistently as well.

Funny how TS says in "the octagon" just so no one can mention his losses outside of the octagon. Fact is Anderson has lost before. He has lost to Yushin Okami (DQ), Ryo Chonan, Daiju Takase, and Luiz Azeredo.

While GSP has losses to Matt Hughes and Matt Serra.

Im not a big fan of either one but Anderson's competition is not as impressive as GSP's. I like both Anderson and GSP by the way, just not a huge fan of either one.

Anderson has lost to a few cans that he never avenged, GSP lost to two UFC champions and avenged the losses by finishing them. Albeit Silva's dominance didn't happen until after those losses.

Both are great fighters and are neck an neck for the top p4p spot. p4p is all opinion, so none of us are technically wrong, but i look at it this way:

GSP has not lost a round since the first Koscheck fight, thats winning at least 28 rounds in a row. He's won 8 fights in a row.

Silva has won 12 in a row in the ufc, but he previously lost rounds in the lutter, henderson, and sonnen fights. He was damn close to sonnen beating him. but he won.

it makes it a tough call, but i call GSP the best p4p mixed martial artist.

I call Anderson the best p4p fighter, but gsp is close to that.

Hopefully we'll see sometime this year! :)

You know that Silva took more strikes in that fight than his entire career? And check the judges scorecards' date=' if Silva was outstriking Chael so badly he wouldn't have been losing by such a margin in every single round.[/quote']

Refresh my memory.. did Silva win that fight or not? Did he come out as a champ after another successful title defense? Score cards dont mean shti when the other guy is tapping.

and those strikes..

Yes they do. They mean more than a W or a L.

You're arguing that Silva was outstriking Sonnen from the bottom, how can that be the case when he was losing the fight very, very blatantly in every round? He was getting dominated and controlled.

I know Silva won, but you can't say he was 'winning' the fight up until he subbed Sonnen.

Edit: how cut up someone's face is doesn't determine who won the fight ****. Sonnen was clearly winning by a large margin up until he tapped, face facts kiddo.

No, you face facts. yes Sonnen was winning but that doesnt mean anything when you lose haha

there can only be one winner and one loser and fhael is the loser and thats a fact.

Me face facts? I already said Silva won. Sonnen tapped, fact.

It doesn't alter the fact that Sonnen was 4 - 0 in that fight and won each round very convincingly. Can you see that?

Big fan of both fighters but it's pretty funny how much the GSP haters aka Silva fan boys are getting owned in this thread. You can't argue with any of their points.

GSP 2 losses

Anderson undefeated in the UFC

GSP avenged both losses.Anderson avenged none

Anderson doesn't make the fights

GSP stops two of the best p4p fighters of all time Hughes and Penn.

Anderson went up a weight class and stopped 2 Light Heavyweights

GSP has won 31 rounds in a row. Silva was losing all 5 rounds in his last fight.

Anderson is the most succesful fighter in the UFCs history with the most wins and the most title defences

GSP has been TKO'd in BRUTAL fashion SIlva has NEVER in his entire mma career. What you have to say about that one huh?

I am a huge GSP fan as i am Silva, i just wanted to point out how lame your post was

Silva has lost more rounds in one fight (Sonnen) than GSP has his entire career. Realistically SIlva's biggest wins are against Franklin and Henderson. He was nearly dominated by Travis Lutter, First round with Henderson and Sonnen.

GSP has lost something like 2 rounds outside of his two losses. His two losses are both during title fights. His big wins are against Hughes twice (which also avenged his first loss), Serra (which avenges his other loss), Koscheck twice, Thiago Alves, BJ Penn twice, Fitch, Sean Sherk (when Sherk was in his absolute prime),

So who realistically has the more impressive resume. WW is pound for pound the stronger division than 185lbs as well.
