Munoz vs. Stann

This fight makes so much sense right now. UFC would be daft not to set this fight up. Stann defeated a Champion, and Munoz defeated somebody who is hardly ever defeated, and came back after a devastating first round.

I would have Munoz by Decision, to be honest with ya's.

I said this would be a good fight. After 130 people were like who does Stann get next. I'm like the clear answer would be the winner of Maia/Munoz. I would have Munoz by UD as well. Yet to see Stann's ground game.

Ha..I actually remember you saying that:).

Brian Stann wins via TKO.

Not to rely too much on MMA math but Mark Munoz struggled with Demian Maia....Brian Stann will be too much for him.

Stann plays Munozs' game too > if I'm MM. I say bring it !

don't make me call arona bigfoot or werdum

On May 8, 2005, Capt. Stann was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines and he commanded the 2nd Mobile Assault Platoon. During Operation Matador, his unit was ambushed by insurgents while trying to secure Ramana Bridge, near Karabilah. Stann and his Marines held out for six days under heavy attacks while Stann coordinated air and tank support that eventually allowed them to be relieved on May 14, 2005. All forty-two Marines in Stann's platoon survived, and the following March, Stann was awarded the Silver Star, the nation's third highest award for valor in combat. Part of the citation reads: "Second Lieutenant Stann personally directed two casualty operations, three vehicle recovery operations and multiple close air support missions under enemy small arms, machine gun and mortar fire in his 360-degree fight." This mission was shown on the episode, "Iraq's Most Wanted" on the History Channel show, Shootout!, in which Stann was interviewed. His actions were noted by President George W. Bush during one of his speeches. He left active duty in the Marine Corps as of May 2008. Captain Stann was also the commanding officer in the 8th Marine Regiment Headquarters Company while continuing to fight in the WEC.

Marine Corps officials say they continue to use Stann's story as a recruiting tool, and he attributes his success in mixed martial arts to the foundation he learned fighting at the Marine Corps Martial Arts Center for Excellence in Quantico, Va. "He has been an ideal spokesperson and role model", said Lt. Col. Mike Zeliff, assistant chief of staff for advertising with Marine Corps Recruiting Command.

Stann is the man! I like Munoz too particularly after he took care of that ball sniffer in his last fight.

It seems like every one of your post involves sniffing balls in some way. That is some ****ed up ****.

Stann via quick KO. Munoz gets rocked with a fair amount of ease.

It's just as creepy that Maia enjoys people sniffing his balls

whats creepier is that GSP enjoys people sniffing his balls while he is sniffing theirs

Try to remember what Davis did to Stann... Stann has lousy bottom game.

Mu?oz doesnt have the size advantage that Dacis had over Stann. also Stann has improved a lot from that fight and fights start standing.

But, Munoz has way better standup and power in that. He has more setup.

huh? you kinda lost me

GSP isn't a ball sniffer. He has good takedowns' date=' sets them up first, and doesn't repeatedly throw himself on his back during fights.[/quote']

Maia is a BJJ guy who is better off his back but it aint no secret that GSP loves to rub his crotch on his opponents. ;)

Yeah but Maia busts 10-15 takedown attempts in a fight that don't work and only involve him sniffing his opponents balls. GSP's takedown attempts are snappy and effective and if they fail he disengages rather than sniff his opponent's balls all throw himself on his back while his opponent stands there looking at him like he is a piece of ****.

I meant that he has way better standup than Davis' date=' so he can set up takedowns better. IMO, Munoz will win if he sets up the takedown and executes it successfully.[/quote']

Mu?oz nearly got KOed by Grove while going for a TD. dunno whats the fuss about Mark's standup though sure he hurt CB standing up but Maia hurt him standing up (yes Maia's hands have improved a lot) but if Stann hits him he may get finished (and I'll be pissed)

Yeah but I only judge Maia on that disgraceful title shot against Silva where he repeatedly threw himself on the ground. That made me hate him and basically hope that he gets fed to a pack of hungry lions.

ano ung bold? Andy is too good for Mark but I would feel bad if mark got KTFO (again)

... its Cebuano,

the poll is funny, Munoz UD's a 4th degree bjj black-belt & arguably

the #1 bjj mw in the world & the majority here think Stann who has

losses to Cantwell & the Polish-Excrement would beat him ... helloooo ?

IF they did fight' date=' you would have to go

for the guy from your homeland... ???[/quote']

technically he never came from the Philippines his parents did he was born in Japan raised in the US but honors his Filipino roots and calls himself "The Filipino Wrecking Machine" which is good he also isnt ****y and all talk blah blah blah i got my face busted twice in a row and i can do my victory dance. Andy is my fave fighter however so that kinda even things out. so i wouldnt pick anyside whoever wins is cool. Mind-wise though Andy will win

one problem though for our boy mark has is that he gets hurt pretty easily and fights start standing up which Stann has the edge if Stann connects hard on Mark it may be a bad morning us Pinoys but if Mark manages to take Stann down he should be able to hold him down long enough to be able to land those vicious hammer fists on Stann to get a TKO the thing is though he doesnt have the size advantage that K-Sos and Phil Davis have in order to keep Stann on the ground.

been saying this for weeks

winner of stann / munoz vs winner of spittping / miller for title shot...

so basically two more MASSIVE ko's for stann then the belt is his. can't wait til he shuts up all the haters, and creates heaps more

Very close fight, but Munoz could get the finish with GnP IMO.

Stann would have to be very wary of the takedown, so if he overcommited with strikes it would be a set up Munoz.

It would be an awesome fight though, both are coming off of their biggest career wins, ranking wise, to date. Santiago wasn't top 10 IMO, but multiple sources had him in theirs.
