SPiTFiRE1988
I wonder why he has left???? strange thing to do when hes about to have a title fight and those are the guys that helped to get him where he is now...... weird
towhatend
It's because he speaks English now and realized Soares plays PR manager, not translator. Ok probably much more to it than that, but he does.

Inferno33
look what happened to mike tyson' date=' granted his trainer passed away. but still this is dos santos down fall. from this point and on.[/quote'] Thats a stupid thing to say dude, a manager does not affect how a fighter performs in the cage, its not like Ed helped JDS get a title shot faster, if anything JDS had the slowest route to a title shot despite knocking everyone out. Randy, loses to Chuck, retires, and comes back for a title shot lol Carwin beats a few cans then beats Mir and gets a title shot Cain beats some cans, Kongo and a washed up Nog then gets a title shot Lesnar loses to Mir, beats a can then gets a title shot? lol JDS beats some cans to but also beats Werdum, Roy Nelson, Carwin,Cro Cop(washed up but still) To get a title shot. He definetely has had the longest route to a title shot in the heavyweight division.

Tyson was his adopted son, and despite D'Amato's death he could have been fine had he not fired Rooney. Tyson was a product of his coaches, I don't think the same is true about JDS. CainCarwin
Dos santos will now be managed by his left ear. Seriously though, maybe anderson, Jose, and lyoto could learn English and follow suite.
friendlyfire31
i understand the split. it must have been hard to hold meetings while ed's head was in anderson's ***.

He was a very dangerous heavyweight. Carwin's shot was well-justified. 3. Was Nog washed up before the Velasquez fight? Yeah, didn't think so. 4. Lesnar won the title and defended it twice. Still talking about that? It's very easy to forget the context of things in the past and look at them through future lenses, but don't do it. That being said, JDS has had by far the most impressive resume of anyone in the UFC not to get a title shot. But you have to consider that after the Nelson fight he could have waited for a shot. The fact that he didn't and beat Carwin, though, is even more impressive.

Besides, Anderson and Lyoto have Seagal now. lol
Googlebright
Brandon Vera was undefeated and looking at a title shot when he split with his manager. Since then he's gone 3-5 and pretty much become irrelevant to the title picture. I'd hate to see Dos Santos follow the same road.

If he wasn't so full of himself he probably woulda learned more and still be a contender but noooo. He was the greatest ever and didn't need to get better

He was the greatest ever and didn't need to get better True, Vera never really fulfilled his potential the way Junior has. But is it entirely coincidental that Vera's dramatic drop-off started after splitting with his manager? Having that kind of turmoil going on in their personal life can affect how an athlete performs. I'm just hoping that Junior knows what he is doing and that this isn't the sign of major upheaval behind the scenes.
