I actually agree with Tito Ortiz... he's not as washed up as some believe.

I hate to say it, but I agree with Tito Ortiz. Don't get me wrong - he's not the Tito of old and he's not a top tier fighter, but he isn't a washed-up has-been quite yet. Even though his record of recent is pretty dismal, he managed to hold up well against solid competition. After getting TKO'd by Liddell, he went to a controversial draw with Rashad Evans (would've won if not for the questionable point deduction), took Machida to decision and actually had him in trouble during the bout, lost a split decision to Forrest in a back-and-forth match, and took Hamill to a decision.

Tito pointed that out in one of his recent interviews and I had no choice but to agree. It would be different if he'd been stopped in all of those fights, but he wasn't completely dominated in any of them - three of which (not including Chuck) were future or former champions.

I think Bader is a bad fight for Ortiz, and one he will likely lose. Tito should've been matched up with a mid-card up-and-coming LHW who isn't at the top yet. Bader won't benefit all that much from a win over Ortiz, but an up-and-comer would. Ortiz would be a decent gatekeeper for the LHW division... if he lost to a couple nobodies, then send him packing.

...of course Tito could always get hired by Scott Coker and fight in the Strikeforce LHW division.

Fair enough' date=' all of his fights have been close, hasn't been finished in ages, and is still fighting top level fighters.. Though his excuses really annoy me[/quote']

No doubt. Tito is the master of excuses and has always been very annoying. He's still a tool, but his octagon performances haven't been as horrible as some say.

The real breaking point with Ortiz is the amount of money his contract is for. He's been making $250,000 (plus PPV buys I would guess) to get beat for the last few years. But yea, he really is losing close fights. He isn't getting KOed like Liddell was or losing to nobodies. Matt Hamill was the first guy in the last decade who beat Ortiz and wasn't a former champ.

Titos problem is he runs his mouth about how great he used to be and what a pioneer for the sport he is. If he kept his mouth shut about **** like that (see liddell, w silva, penn etc) he'd probably still be a huge fan favorite. The guys who are great don't need to explain it

Correct. He needs to learn to STFU.

if he wasnt washed up , he really needed to perform a lot better against Mark Hamill (lol, i meen Matt Hamill) for me to believe that hes still got game. I think that Osama Bin Laden T-Shrt was a bit too much. That really seems to be Tito's personality. He seems to train super hard and get injured in his training camps, instead of working on his own evolution to catch up to todays insanely good MMA fighters. Its a whole new generation of fighters Tito has to catch up too, something Rampage's style seems to be better at doing that Tito's.

Tito should lose this fight. He's not a HORRIBLE fighter' date=' but when you can't win a fight you gotta get out of the UFC[/quote']

Tito must be an exception...

He hasnt won a fight in years & still hasnt been cut...

He is used as a ca$h cow for Dana & Co.

All I am saying is' date=' he isn't getting finished. He's losing fights for sure, but when you're a legend, Dana cuts you a little extra slack. Do I think he'll lose tomorrow night? Yes.[/quote']

I think he will lose also...

BUT he wont get finished... IMO...
