Harbringer
Are there any anime fans on the forum? If so, help me out here. I'm trying to find a new anime to watch that's a little more mature and gritty than typical anime. Something along the lines of Cowboy Bebop or Berserk, both of which I enjoyed immensely. So any suggestions? Any feedback would be most appreciated!!
Epilogue1406051983
I used to be, but it became a bit of an over saturated market after a while... got into it after I saw Akira (like many I'm sure)... Akira is probably as mature and gritty as it got for it's time... Excel Saga still makes me laugh my *** off...

judo_phantom
Elfen lied Hellsing Hellsing Ultimate Hell Girl Ikki Tousen Black Cat Eden of the East Azumanga Daioh Chobits Gungrave Trinity Blood Blood + Neon Genesis Evangelion Black lagoon Shuffle Clannad Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance Ghost in the shell: Stand Alone Complex My girl really loves Doki Doki school hours if you want something a little lighter and friendlier. But all of the above mentioned series are amazing in their own way. Ranging from elfen lied's crazy violence and nudity, with stunning artwork, to the less intense yet halarious azumanga. If you need more just ask.

Superbeast28
Im a fan try hellsing, gantz, deathnote, samurai champloo, kaze no stigma, hajime no ippo. Check out the manga for berserk and gantz after you see the animes because they are 100 times better. PM me if you need a link. Gantz is by far the best original manga/anime. Berserk is second. Harbringer
I will check out Gantz for sure, thanks for all the replies everybody, so many suggestions I don't even know where to start!!
Superbeast28
When you watch gantz dont see the last two episodes because they have nothing to do with the story which continues in the manga. Also there is a live action movie for gantz which is amazing.
