Key to the next WW Champion.

Diaz' striking IS better. He will ream GSP on the feet, there is no doubt about that.

GSP WILL go for takedowns in this fight... Typical.

The key to this game is weather or not Nick Diaz can do reversals. If he can gain dominant positions on the ground, GSP is in a lot of trouble, because if he gets hasty and tries to scramble, the BJJ expert in Diaz will see an opportunity, and snake a choke somewhere out of the blue.

I can see Diaz reversing the ground situation. It could happen. If he does, and ends up on top, GSP will have to be careful navigating his way out so he doesn't get caught in a gogoplata or some crazy thing like that. Since GSP will have to be careful, Diaz would be able to score more points.

I do not see Diaz scoring a submission from the bottom. Plain and simple.

There you have it. If your lazy, Diaz' sweeps will be the key.

Diaz cant handle the wrestling of GSP

The only way he can win is to find the weakness of GSP which is his heart.

Pressure Pressure Pressure dont give GSP a room to breathe

that will be the key to Diaz victory

GSP has two weaknesses, actually. One that nobody can exploit except for this man. Chin and Heart. We already know Diaz will apply pressure, but if he does, his back is gonna be hitting the ground with Gay Safe Pierre on top of him.

I think GSP will take Diaz down but Diaz will immediately counter with a gogoplata attempt' date=' GSP will be able to stand up but he'll be scared and turn it into a kickboxing contest. Diaz will pepper him and finish him in the 4th[/quote']

You're very confident of this... You're gonna feel dumb if it doesn't happen, which is more than likely.

Diaz is not the guy.

Diaz would lose to any top wrestler in the div. Fitch, Hughes, or even Rick Story.

Heres the thing, and I don't love GSP at all. GSP is a boring, safe, points fighter now, and it disgusts me. It appears as if he has no killer instinct left at all.

But don't be stupid.

GSP has amazing top game. His explosiveness and ability to gain posture is second to none in the div. If diaz tries to lock up a sub, GSP will explode out of danger, and most likely stand up and get away from him. Then wait for another take down.

When GSP is on top, his posture and control will prevent Diaz from getting rubber guard (which he likes to do) and/or attempt a triangle.

Diaz has really effective striking, but not crisp accurate boxing, he will not beat GSP on the feet. I am not saying GSP will beat Diaz on the feet, but I am saying that Diaz isn't going to be outstriking GSP.

We might see GSP act alot like Lyoto here, he will stay elusive so he doesn't get clipped by Diaz, and he will try for more kicks and superman punches, to set up a takedown.

Diaz has mediocre takedown defense. This normally doesn't hurt because his BJJ is very strong. But Sanchez and SHerk both beat him because he doesn't defend the takedowns well. Both Sanchez and Sherk had the explosiveness to avoid Diaz's subs. GSP is even better than that.

Diaz is not the guy.

He has a chance sure, I'm not a moron. Anything can happen in MMA. But I give Diaz a 20% chance at best.

Because Diaz doesn't mind being on his back (he is confident in his BJJ), I actually think GSP has an opportunity here to get a finish.

GSP needs to ground and pound the way he did with Hughes and Penn. If GSP can get a little bit of that killer back, he will have the chance to pound on Diaz.

Diaz's win will be either by clipping GSP on the button, or like the OP stated, sweeping into top position and getting a sub. Both of those things seem unlikely with how safe GSP fights these days.

I have GSP for this one.

However' date=' Diaz has a great chance. I think the way he wins the fight is by putting constant pressure on GSP. Judging by St. Pierre's last fight, he crumbles under pressure. Nick Diaz needs to be on him at all times, trying to pin him against the cage and lighting him up with strikes.[/quote']

I have GSP as well, but if Nick Diaz shows poise off his back, and does reversals, I will instantly change sides.

Eh' date=' I don't think he'll be able to do that.

He needs to put GSP against the cage and batter him to death.

^IMO

If he does get the reversals and what not though, GSP can say good night.[/quote']

I know it's a fools hope.

I got GSP winning, but I'd love it if he lost. Canada would have another riot. XD

The key to winning the WW title is GSP moving up. Diaz has a chance' date=' but realistically he's probably the second worst fighter GSP has defended his title against. I have him right above Hardy.[/quote']

Diaz will probably land some punches, but he doesn't have the knockout power to get the KO. So, when Diaz does land, I see him getting taken down for his efforts, and getting beat up pretty badly on the ground. With all the knocks on GSP not finishing fights, I think he will be extremely motivated to finish Diaz with some vicious ground and pound.

So, that's my call...GSP by vicious GNP...I'll even go out on a limb and call the round...Round #4

on paper it is impossible for Diaz to win.

GSP will do the following:

1. On their feet he will jab and keep distance, which will frustrate the crap out of Diaz (who needs people to attack)

2. When or if Diaz starts landing shots, GSP will instantly take him down and lay on top of him for the rest of the round. Diaz has nothing to counter the wrestling of GSP...

3. IF GSP has finally had enough of the online haters he will try to finish this fight with a submission... G&P will not happen as it will allow Diaz room to stand up..

So..

GSP via decision..or GSP via submission..

The only way GSP will lose his belt ever is if he gets caught on accident via sub or flying knee/ head kick. Anyone saying tht a fighter in the WW class will have a game plan tht works and successfully beast GSP is an idiot.

Accidental flying knee? :D

BTW, nobody means to get caught. :P

I'm glad someone is still analytical when it comes to what may happen in future fights. There are far too many dumb, biased, ignorant MMA fans out there.

Diaz has a bigger chance than Condit

LOL No.

Anyone can throw a flying knee....it's all about how lucky you are by landing it square to the jaw

Condit's landed that bad boy on more than one occasion.

Wasn't that what he was doing?
