Where does Wanderlei Silva go next? Brian Stann? Chael Sonnen?

After that brutal KO Leben laid on Wandy, one has to ask if 'The Axe Murderer' has any kill left in him. If you think he does, which one of these competitors would you like to see him fight?

Brian Stann is more technical than Leben, so the fight would last longer. But ultimately, it would end with Wanderlei's face flat on the canvas as he grapples with the Ref due to his disorientation. ***Stann by KO late in the 1st round.

Chael Sonnen doesn't have the KO power or striking of Leben or Stann, so I don't see that happening. However, his superior wrestling would allow him to take Wandy down at will and pound on his face. I see a unanimous decision for Sonnen, or possibly a Ref stoppage in the 3rd if he connected enough times on Wandy's glass jaw.

Thoughts??

If he fights Vitor or Stann' date=' Wanderlei will be sleeping again.. He better drink some coffee before the fight[/quote']

I have to agree with you...it would be a 1st Round 'nap time' for Wanderlei. Maybe if he fought Tito Ortiz, then whomever loses could get their walking papers. Personally, I think Tito only prolonged his retirement.

He better choose his opponents if he fights again. Someone who does not have KO power or elite strikers. Best Possible opponent would be Jorge Santiago or some lower opponents like Ed Herman

That's a great point. Wandy needs to avoid heavy-handed strikers at all cost. Also, he should probably avoid anyone with good takedowns and G&P due to his glass jaw.

I like Wanderlei and all he has done for the sport, but he really should walk into the sunset before he ends up eating canvas and grappling with Josh Rosenthal again.

!SEXYAMA!

There's a good chance Akiyama will Let Vitor win in their upcoming bout (on account of him being generous enough to share the wealth, after his crushing defeat to Anderson left him feeling so unsexy.)

Sexyama vs. Wanderlei is a win, win. Both guys will stand in the middle of the Octagon, throw leather at each other for 15 minutes, someone will earn a well-deserved decision, and the crowd will cheer them afterwards. Both guys walk away winners.

Retire. Neither of those fighters have anything to gain by fighting Silva and are probably in too high a class for him now. The only fight i can see being anywhere near safe for Wandi is probably a rematch with Bisping but Bisping is pretty much in a lose/lose situation. Beat Wandi, does nothing for his trying to make a run at a title shot and gets him even more hate for retiring wandi. Lose again, well lol but what has Wandi done but beat someone who is over-rated and and not fit to be in the UFC:rolleyes:

Wandy needs to retire. He and Chute Boxe were pioneers in the mid years of MMA in

which they contributed a specially designed fast moving forward Muay Thai style that

caught a lot of Japanese and American fighters in Pride off guard much the way Royce

with Gracie jujitsu caught many one dimensional martial arts styles off guard with the trip

and smother trip take down style to rear naked choke, or arm bar, or triangle choke to

submit many of these fighters and win tournament championships after the other. Once

mma fighters learned chute boxe's special brand of Muay Thai and how to counter it to

win, Wanderlei et al have been losing just like how Royce lost to Sakuraba and Matt

Hughes, and a Japanese olympic judoka figured out how to beat Royce's Gracie jujitsu by choking him out. So, this is

why Wanderlei is obsolete, and plus Wanderlei's style is just too crazy and wreckless, it

was only amatter of time that a cool, calm and collected fighter figured out how to beat this

wreckless style like Mirko figured out, Rampage, and Leben. So, basically this is the

history of why just using strictly Gracie jujitsu or strictly just Chute Boxe style is now

obsolete. Now you need to be well versed in all major styles, BJJ, MT, and boxing or

kickboxing like Cain, JDS, A. Silva, GSP, JBJ, Jose Aldo, Fedor, Mousasi, and Machida.
