Michele Bachmann is first GOP presidential candidate to sign pledge banning gay marriage, ****

No **** for you! At least if Michele Bachmann has anything to say about it.

The GOP congresswoman is the first presidential candidate to sign a pledge that calls for banning all forms of ****ography and gay marriage. It also requires fidelity between spouses.

"The Marriage Vow" is being pushed by Family Leader, an influential Christian conservative Iowa group.

It also states that homosexuality is a choice and a health risk - and should be compared to polygamy or adultery.

The pledge also calls for rejecting Sharia law, appointing faithful constitutionalists as judges and opposing any effort to redefine marriage between man and woman.

Family Leader CEO Bob Vander Plaats has said his group would not endorse any candidates that did not sign the pledge.

"The Family Leader views this pledge as an important component needed to inform constituents about the personal stand that each presidential candidate takes regarding marriage," said Vander Plaats, who unsuccessfully ran for governor of Iowa in 2010.

"We believe that the candidates' positions on core values, such as marriage, correlate directly to his/her moral stances on energy issues, sound budgeting policies, national defense, and economic policies," he added.

Alice Stewart, a spokeswoman for Bachmann, told the Washington Post that the 54-year-old social conservative did not hesitate to sign the pledge.

"She has been married for over 30 years and has a strong marriage and faith," Stewart said.

No other candidates have signed the pledge yet.

Can you please supply me with the quote from Bachman saying "I will ban **** if elected."? Your thread title is grossly misleading. She signed a questionable "pledge" with elements that seem extreme but are mostly just to gain political points from a particular voting base. If she ever got elected she wouldn't ban ****. Good lord, use some common sense before jumping to idiotic conclusions people.

Hey, a 1 min research on this woman and I've spotted 2 insane things already:

1) She is an evangelical religious person

2) She says global warming is a hoax

Hahaha welcome Sarah Palin 2.0. Someone should ask her how old she thinks the earth is, and we have the past election all over again.

You're thread is entitled "Michele Bachman says she will ban **** if elected." From what i've read in the article you provided as well as others I personally searched, no where did I find a quote from Bachman saying "I will ban **** if elected." Hence I made a reasonable criticism pointing out the misleading nature of your thread title. But hey you posted a picture of a donkey...That's a powerful argument in the presence of an actual criticism.

Look at what happened to that one american politician who made that ad "Im not a witch" and wanted to prohibit ************.

I dont actually believe even if michelle is elected she will be able to do this. Remember guys theres more men politicians with ugly wives in congress than anywhere else.

Barack Obama gonna clean house with lack of serious opposition.

Well you are entitled to your opinion. I'm Australian so even though I read the New York newspapers/news sites every day I'm not into the whole Democrat v Republican thing. This thread was basically a cut and paste from the New York Daily News. The thread title was just me cutting out the "gay marriage" part of the article title because that wasn't what interested/astounded me about the article.

Me posting the pic of the donkey is how I roll. I'm fairly abusive lol I'm sure we would probably get along mostly apart from minor clashes like this...

I definitely researched this before I replied it seemed like something that should be on every news. Its true google it ask michelle bachman's son on facebook if you have to.

This seems like something michelle would do so most people probably never checked if it was true.

Uh oh, she has a strong faith in God... She's raised 23 foster children and started a psychiatric business for people with mental illnesses, and people really are really going to attack her for her evangelical beliefs? Really? Her faith has clearly done objectively good things for herself and others.

Also, I find it highly ironic and hipocritical that so many religous skeptics aren't skeptical of other questionable theories, namely global warming. You infer that skepticism in global warming is unreasonable but if you actually did some research on the subject (assuming you haven't) you would see that the theory of anthropogenic global warming has some serious flaws. If I were you I would check out a historical graph of earth's climate, the percentage of carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas, and the beneficial effects of carbon dioxide. Global warming is certainly not a hoax, but to say that it's caused by the activities of man as opposed to natural causes is actually a pretty big leap of faith.

Yeah she is evangelical so most of her decisions will be made based on her distorted world view. I bet money her being against homosexuals stems from those beliefs, or are closely connected to each other. Pr0n the same thing. I don't care what good she did. You can do the same good without being part of the evangelical community and having faith in god? Get it?

As for global warming lol to that with the leap of faith. What's next, are you going to say 'evolutionists' also have faith in evolution? I've had that said before. Next up: you have faith in the theory of gravity. Global warming is a complex issue no doubt, but it is safe to say we contributed a significant amount to the problem and need to revert it. Not to mention the United States contributes a significant portion of the pollution, so having a leadership that won't take action to correct this will be bad news for everyone in the long run.

Well said. Frankly I agree with Bachmann's general worldview. I think she has little to no chance of winning however. Even if she did become president ****ography is protected free speech according to prior court precedent and even the president would not be capable of changing this.

In reality I find that ****ography does have a serious negative effect on those involved in its production and those that watch it. I have been addicted to ****ography for years of my life and have seen the negative effect that it can have. I also know other people personally who have seen serious negative consequences of ****ography consumption. I know that it has become common place for our generation with the internet making it easy to anonymously view it for free but that doesn't mean that it doesn't carry negative consequences with it. With that said, will it ever be banned in America? No.

I love how ****ed up American politics are.

It is like its own Jerry Springer show that the whole country votes on.

Anyone who has a predetermined view of the who they are voting for I would say is an Idiot, Republican or Democrat

Anyone who votes for this woman I would say is a Religious wingnut who cares little for their country and more in a fairy tale book.

She will take your country so far back it is unbelievable what her theories are.

With how split the republican field is, I wont be surprised that Obama doesn't get an easy win, even with all his ***** footing around in the White House.

The United States does not know what a conservative is, the republicans right has easily overcome them.

All in all I just have this to say.

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

That is all.

Romney is the only serious candidate, & he's probably a more dangerous puppet than Obama is.

Ron Paul is practically the only legitimate Congressmen (alongside maybe Kucinich), & certainly the only legitimate Presidential Candidate. And if he loses the Primaries, which the corporate-banking world will guarantee, everyone had better vote Libertarian or plan for a serious Revolution, because it will be our last hope. Things are that bad, this post is that serious, and people had better start paying attention.

To many stupid lemmings in your country.

It has to be Right or left. Any Independent has no real choice in your elections.

You need someone who is conservative on fiscal issues but realistic on social issues. Both parties are so left or right on those issues that your country is falling apart to the extremists, and no, the Tea party is just an extremist arm of the republicans.

You need a real third and fourth party to centre your country.

Amen brother' date=' amen. BTW who are you going to vote for Kevbo?[/quote']

Don't know yet. I have to see who the Republican party actually puts up against Obama. I'd say Nader, or some of the other independents, but thats honestly just wasting a vote. I am really hoping Ron Paul gains some steam but I know people will never vote for him.

He believes in aliens and wants to legalize marijuana. Those 2 things alone will make it so the older US generations don't pay him the time of day.
