machida vs shogun 1.

machida looked heart broken then he got his hand raised.

i call bs that was the closet fight i have ever seen, i cant belive everyone agrees, i mean come on it's not like he was dominated the was handed the decision.

a real gift decision is phan v. garcia

Agreed. The more times I watch Machida vs Shogun 1 the closer I think it was. I can say I had Shogun winning, but I don't see it as a one sided blowout. Machida landed some good shots, he just looked worse in the face after the fight. And also Phan vs Garcia was ridiculous. I don't think that fight was even close at all.

i could see shogun winning you know but ppl saying it was gift for machida to win is so outrageous. machida stuffed all takedowns, beat him at his game which is the clinch. the standup, i was leaning towards rua.

I agree with you.

All it takes is for a popular fighter to be on the wrong end of a close fight (or an unpopular fighter to be on the right end) and fans act like it was a robbery. Machida/Shogun and Hamill/Bisping were two very close fights which could both easily have gone either way.

Phan vs Garcia, KZ vs Garcia, Lentz vs Griffin and Ring vs Fukuda are a few fights in the last year or so which have been genuine robberies.

I only saw rounds 4 and 5 for that fight, but based of that I favored Megumi. You could see who recieved the most damage. Now to answer the thread...

Griffin v. Lentz - Griffin did alot of work IMO

Machida v. Shogun - Rooting for Machida BOTH times, but I can't convince myself Machida won the first unless you get points for stuffing takedowns

Miller v. Bocek - Spilt decision in favor of Bocek IMO

Kampmann v. Condit - I wanted Condit to win

Kampmann v. Sanchez - Rooting for Sanchez but a UD is bit much IMO

Couture v. Vera - I honestly thought Vera was gonna take that wit last Minute Mount, but it is what it is

Siver v. Wiman - I thought Wiman pushed the pace in 1st - Ground and Pound 2nd - Anyones round 3rd

Tavares v. Simpson - I honestly thought Tavares put in more work with the slam, and power strike/es with right hand.

Clay Harvison v. Justin Edwards - I honestly thought Edwards put in more work all around

Guida v. Pettis - At least a split decision loss, Pettis had Guida in more danger on the feet and on the ground, than Gudia had him on the ground (only advanced position for Guida was the back control as a result of pettis reversing what looked like a Judo throw from Guida) IMO Guida with the win, but not impressively IMO

Hathaway v. McCray - McCray swept Hathaway 90% of time after Hathaway takedowns ex (IF Hathaway landed 10 takedown, McCray swept him 9 times), and had Hathaway airborne in rounds 1 & 2 I recall. (May have to rewatch). McCray lost the 3rd even with his reversal, and was gassed.

Jones v. Hamill - 100% commissions fault (Mazzagatti included). If the fight was stopped sooner, Hamill wouldn't of suffered unnecessary punishment, Jones wouldn't have a loss that he didn't deserve (Jones threw an illegal elbow, 2 to be exact, but I believed the fight should of been stopped when Hamill couldn't get out of mount while being hit.) When Rogan asked Hamill what happened after the fight Hamill stated his shoulder was hindered which I don't see being a direct result of Johnys elbow.

Bowles v. Mizugaki - I believe Mizuagki had Center of Oct., landed more accurate shots. Bowles controlling Mizugaki's back is all I honestly remember giving him credit for. (I only watched the fight once, and going to watch again.)

Agreed. Machida vs. Shogun 1 was not a domination by either fighter and it was a close fight. Nam Phan vs. Leonard Garcia was a rip off.
