yeah but it's easier to get a triangle from the bottom than it is from top position

 

Bad comparison, its super easy to land a punch or two and score points while on top, as opposed to being controlled on the bottom. How often do people secure triangles everytime someone in in their guard. Pettis had all those triangle attempts against Guida but bottom line was Guida was landing some strikes.

Yeah, but he finished his fights. If it goes to a decision, the guy consistently on the bottom, despite pulling guard/controlling from the bottom will probably lose, because the guy on top can still land some shots/score points.
